Yes, I've not been around much this season, but dammit we need a win.

Screw the Tigers. Screw Valverde and his stupid prediction. Screw rain. Screw the naysayers.

CC is a horse.......he might even eat a horse.......but he will get this team back on track with a win.

WIN.

The Yankees aren't even an empire anymore. The Phillies are the Evil Empire.

The Yankees are just fighting for their lives. Screw the Star Wars analogy.

Yankees are the Evil Empire. Playoffs every year since 95 minus 2008. 16 of 17 years. 5 Rings since. Endless division titles. They are never ever outbid when a free agent considers the Yankees seriously. They never lose their best minor league talent. They have undead players who refuse to go away (Jeter, Rivera). The Evil Empire uses a dark force to keep them strong and hold them together. The Phillies would never have enough power to allow a 41 year old closer to dominate let alone a 37 year old SS to keep hitting like a hall of famer.

Embrace who you are. It could be worse, you could be the Ewoks (Without rocks or sticks) of NY (Mets) :(

Funny stuff. Yanks may always be evil but the Phillies are the Empire. And I can see some evil in Philly. Didn't Jimmy Rollins talk a lot of trash about the Mets? Didn't he rub it in their faces a few years ago? And Philly hired the ultimate free agent mercenary, Cliff Lee, who may not be worth the money after all. In addition, most of the baseball world is rooting for the underdog Cardinals to knock off Philly.

Ruben Amaro is the unquestioned best GM in baseball these days. I'm thinking Pat Gillick was Darth Vader. He brought the Force to Philly.

I just don't like the Star Wars analogy. Yanks may still be an Empire but they are not the No. 1 team in the baseball universe.

Stop trying to pretend you're an underdog. Ain't nobody here buying that line.

Also, at the Radiohead show last week I saw a girl with a tattoo of a fucking Ewok on her back. I can only assume it was a hipster/ironic thing because nobody likes the fucking Ewoks.

Jeter and Tex can't hit RHP and A-Rod is dead. Stop giving Granderson and Cano anything to hit for the rest of the series.

Sorry, he announced the lineup a while ago:

Austin Jackson CF
Ramon Santiago 2B
Delmon Young LF
Miguel Cabrera 1B
Victor Martinez DH
Magglio Ordonez RF
Jhonny Peralta SS
Alex Avila C
Brandon Inge 3B

NY still with the same lineup, Montero still a spectator.

Well, with Verlander on the mound and Teixeira and ARod hitting like little girls, you may very well get to choose game 4's analogy Terry.

Simple.

Beat Verlander and crush their spirit.

Again, this isn't the Mariners or the Royals. The only spirit-crushing that will happen is if NY manages to win two more games.

Don't believe in analogies. I'm from the boring play them one at a time camp. I would sacrifice Princess Leah for a victory tonight. Have you seen her lately? She weighs 200 pounds and has an opinion on everything. Hey, she would fit in great here. Well, maybe fit is not the right word.

I think ARod is going to get a big hit tonight.

I'll be curious to see how both pitchers look, as they are throwing on two-days rest.

Everyone is swinging at Verlander's first pitch. At least the first 3. It won't be easy for Verlander to get ahead by throwing it down the middle.

Just hit 98 on their gun and followed it up with 100. No idea how accurate that gun is but he was throwing hard to Cano.

Jeter and Granderson's baserunning hurting Verlander in the first. I'll say it again, the only better baserunner NY has ever had than Granderson right now is Rickey Henderson in his prime.

If you want $150M in the offseason, you get this lead to at least the seventh, preferably the 8th. Come on, big man.

As for CC's stuff, the two innings on Friday made it seem like he was saving a lot for the postseason. Two days rest for these guys, though, who knows.

Should have been strike 3 to Austin Jackson.

However, a great double play to erase it. Cano is so smooth at the pivot.

Fair enough we'll let the ump establish "his" strike zone, but that was a strike to Jackson.
