Am I the only one who thinks the on-screen strike zone is way off a lot of the time?

It looks pretty damn accurate to me. A bit small, if anything.

A miracle that Posada didn't get doubled off there.

Come on, Derek!

This ump apparently wants to make sure neither pitcher sucks today.

Apparently no one told Girardi that this is the playoffs. For some reason Freddy Garcia is still on the mound...

Let's see if Jeter gets as much flak for his huge error today as he got ballwashed for his relay to home yesterday.

Should Canó have made a play on the VMart grounder?

Jeter should get some credit for yelling at Logan and causing a balk there too :)

Dunno, I didn't think so, it was hit very hard.

I'm utterly shocked that Boone Logan got through that unscathed.

How about some runs?

1-1 after two, if it come to that is really not an issue. Still have this series.

I think Detroit has to be pretty happy to leave NY with 1 win, especially considering that they only got 1 inning from Verlander.

What a pathetic way to allow the first hit. Delmon Young is a fucking joke.

Well, technically they got 2 innings from CC. And the Yankees probably would've hoped to take both home games.

It is absurd, but it's been called that way for 6 innings now. How about making an adjustment?

This is the zone to lefties:

The Yankees have six lefties in their lineup. They need a pool strainer to hit Scherzer with the zone he's getting.

Scherzer pitched a great game. He made the big pitches when needed.

I guess he was taken out due to his pitch count. He only gave up a ground ball up the middle in the 7th.

Yes. He's only at 8 pitches right now though. He can probably go 4-6 outs.

Gotta give credit to Leyland.

2 on and nobody out....he makes a pitching change to his set up guy in the 7th. And Benoit gets the next 3 batters out.

Leyland's hook wasn't as slow as La Russa's. Worked out better too.

After seeing Valverde's perfect regular season, I couldn't help but wonder if he'd bomb in the post-season. Curious to see how he'll handle his outings in October, esp. this series. Not really a fan of high octane emotional relievers (Krod/Benitez have scared me for life as a met fan).

Yankees have to be feeling pretty good about spending $1.6 billion on a stadium without a retractable roof.

I'd feel good about NY getting to him with a 1 or even 2 run lead, but not a 4 run lead. They're showing pretty much zero signs of offensive life today.

It was a joke. Have you not noticed that Kay doesn't miss an opportunity to talk about this every time it even drizzles?
