Pats at Oakland: Welcome to the Black Hole

I'll be in Overstock.com Coliesum for this one, so I'll start the thread.
In past years, this might have been a laugher. Not this year. The Raiders are coming off a great win against a stout NYJ defense. McFadden really scares me as he looks all world so far.
I think the Pats will find a way to win in a high-scoring squeaker. I also hope to escape the Black Hole unscathed.

I'll be there as well. Was there the last time as well when Cassel lit them up.I'll be there, too. Glad this game is being played early in the season this time around. Last game up there when Cassell and Randy lit them up, it was bitter cold and poured all game.

Looking likes Haynesworth won't hit those incentives while sitting out.
He's still been more productive than Ocho though.

The D's inability to contain the edge really comes into play today, as the Raiders love attacking off either tackles.
Thank god Chung is back, but I am feeling very, very nervous.

The Belichick Brady Pats don't often lose consecutive games and don't often lose to teams with a QB as mediocre as Jason Campbell.
Critically, after the events of the last several weeks, I especially need them to win, and it's all about me.

I think the bulk of us feel that way. A loss today might send me into a tailspin....Critically, after the events of the last several weeks, I especially need them to win, and it's all about me.

I'm confident about this one.
The Belichick Brady Pats don't often lose consecutive games and don't often lose to teams with a QB as mediocre as Jason Campbell.
But you don't necessarily need to be an elite QB to have a good day throwing on the Pats D, and Oakland has McFadden to help open things up down the field. That worries me. Campbell has hit some big throws down field.

At this point, I would objectively say we are underdogs. Too many key injuries in an already poor defense against a potentially explosive offense on a cross-country trip. Who are our 5th and 6th defensive backs? Will we be using our shitty backup safeties to play nickel and dime?
Experience is saying a bounce back win.
Gut is saying our guys get blasted into the middle of next week, physically dominated, run over and around.
The latter would cap the worst week in Boston sports since February 2008.

Oh shit, 3/4 talking heads on the CBS pregame picked the Raiders as their upset special.
Total disrespect. Use it, BB.

But can there be any doubt that at least some, if not most, of the guys picking the Raiders are rooting hard against the Pats and are letting their parochial interests play a role? Between SpyGate and BB's attitude, the Pats may be one of the most disliked teams in the NFL.
As long as the refs aren't in that camp, and call games straight up, I sort of like that position.

Marino picks the Raiders. As does Cowher and Shannon.
Marino also said BB was "probably one of the better coaches in the NFL" last week.

I guess that means that Patrick Chung is dressing today. Given the state of the rest of the secondary, that qualifies as very good news.Mallet the last inactive

I am sure CBS will get us to the action with 3 minutes left in the 1st.

Totally despise the late game.

We don't play at 1PM for like 10 weeks now right?

Word is that BB the coach does't have ownership support and will leave, even though BB the GM wants him to stay. BB the GM might leave too, jumping ship to Chicago. It's all Lackey's fault.

I know you're making a funny, but I want to hurt you now.I heard that guys on the offense are sitting on the bench drinking beers when the defense is on the field. Sounds like BB is no longer getting through to some of the entitled veterans.

I just realized the Bills game was last week. As in, it was only a week ago. Mein gotten. The Red Sox were like my son. I raised them. And when they died a part of me died. But now you're the one. You're the one that's gonna keep their spirit alive. You're the one that's gonna make sure that they didn't die for nothing.
Edit: Actually, fuck those guys. They had no spirit. Seriously, Fuck the 2011 red sox. Patriots, I turn my lonely eyes to you.
Win today.

Seeing the Bengals march down the field and kick a field goal to beat Buffalo makes me feel even worse about last week.
Yep. What a clusterfuck last week was.
