In Extra Bases:Lackey had an angry postgame press conference, accusing an unnamed reporter — later learned to be a gossip columnist not affiliated with the baseball media — of sending him a text message about a personal issue before the game. He basically refused to answer questions after a quick tirade that seemed way out of place given the circumstances

Sorry wrong thread. I apologize.

Alive indeed Brah.....Kalish called up to, wonder if we'll see the big dog.

That was a technicality, they had to recall Kalish before they could put him on the 60 day DL to activate Drew off of it, he just had surgery maybe a week or so ago.

Our magic no. is 3. If we win 2 at Bal'more, and Tampa wins no more than 2 vs. the MFY - we get wild card. I see this as a still-plausible scenario. If Tampa sweeps we have playoff - a bad outcome. Beckett can start the parade of magic no. reductions tonight.

With Varitek's injury last night, might want to ask him if he will be okay if Salty has to catch.

We win tonight, the Angels are out. If we win tonight and the Yankees win tonight, we would guarantee no worse than a one-game playoff with TB.

Do it.

WIN.

Last night was like shitting out a cactus. Can only result in smoother results after clearing that from the pipes.

I'll be at Camden tonight, and I am fully prepared to celebrate a Beckett CG shutout.

I'll also be ready to run on the field andbear Carl Crawford.

Win.

Quick, somebody text Beckett.

And the text should say that his ex-GF is going to sing the Anthem. May as well deploy all the big guns.

JFB and the smoking Buddah! Nice!

I will be at the game tonight. It would be nice of the Red Sox win the game so that my attendance is not marred by their loss. Please win. Brah.

I think the Angels know they are good and fucked and will just go away now. They can only win 89 at most and the Sox and Rays are sitting on 89 and 88 respectively. Way too hard to pass two teams in that scenario. Not technically impossible, but when you're looking at needing to sweep against the Rangers and hoping the Sox get swept and the Rays only win 1 just to get to a three-team playoff, you're probably mentally cleaning your golf clubs.

Scientifically speaking, of course.

Edit: Meant to add that also working against the Angels is that the Rangers still have something to play for. Unfortunately for the Sox, though, the Yankees don't because they already have HFA locked. Hope we don't get into a scenario where the Yankees have the power to essentially pick the WC by tanking a game that is meaningless for them.

Just reminiscing about some of the game threads this year...it's been fun. Last night maybe one of the best. T & A with about 1,000 lost souls following the thread. And one troll. It was even more fun than the Spanish language theme! What a night. Need to Bust Buck and the Birds tonight and hope for the MFY's to play as hard against the MFRays as they did us. Hopefully they use their Major League team tonight.

The way he was openly cursing at the doctor for taking him out of the womb earlier than he wanted was a dead giveaway.
