Isn't the third one coming out next year? Might as well get a head start labeling them.Is this a new age Christian thing?

The only legitimate criticism of Tito is the fact that his players are completely out to lunch in the field and on the bases.
Yeah, they need a closed-door asskicking. Hopefully Tito has it in him.

Careful. People have been yelled at for suggesting this is something that Tito can be blamed for.

Is there a pitcher on this team that isn't in a slump?
Hard to say what Papelbon's been up to.

No shit.Tito's biggest problem is that his current rotation is a pile of shit. No manager is going to win games with slop like Wakefield, Miller, Lackey, Weiland, etc.
I think they may be hooped. It is hard to imagine Beckett and Bedard pitching well if they get one start before the playoffs.
Feel free to post Jim Mora if you want.

Beckett- HURT
Lester
Buchholz- HURT
Bedard- HURT
Papelbon
Bard
Aceves
So, we're basically down to four good pitchers right now; 3 of them are relivers; 2 of whom may be experiencing some degree of dead arm / fatigue.
Albers and Wheeler picked bad teams to regress, too. Argh.

Probably not a good idea to read tonight's game tweets.
JulE6 must be having a field day.

Look at it this way; the Sox basically have 7 good pitchers.
Beckett- HURT
Lester
Buchholz- HURT
Bedard- HURT
Papelbon
Bard
Aceves

If Beckett and Bedard are fine, that's probably enough in the postseason with the off days for the pen. Aceves is having an off night tonight, but he can bridge the 6th and the 7th for Bedard and Lackey and get the game to Bard/Papelbon.
Silver lining....Bard and Papelbon are getting rest.

Meh -- Scutaro didn't establish effective cutoff position. Reddick's throw was a good one.
Although I am loathe to disagree with you, Sprowly...

...ball don't lie.
Second time this game, too.
Edit: Scut is covering bag and realizes there is no cutoff, so runs to get it maybe hoping maybe he can get it and run it back, but then it's over his head. Of course, there would have been nobody covering the bag anyway...

Beck does have considerable time on his hands after loosing his TV show. I wonder how the Red Sox will figure in the story. Will they see redemption? This storyline is setting up along classic lines. The First Testament, featuring the Gospel of Glenn Beck and Psalms for the Subservient Wife by Michele Bachmann.

I'm really nervous now that the Rays may actually catch the Sox. The Sox just can't beat this fucking team when it matters it seems
Generally, the Ray's havn't played as well vs everyone else as they have vs the Sox.

What really worries me is they can't seem to beat ANYONE now.

I think that supports my conclusion, rather than the contrary -- it is the cutoff man's job to get in position between the RF and the 3B so that he can make the decision about whether or not to intercept the ball. The rightfielder must avoid overthrowing the cutoff man, but that's a matter of trajectory, not direction. There's no point in throwing the ball to a cutoff man who is out of line with the 3B: if that's the case, then the rightfielder just runs the ball in to hold the men at first and third.Although I am loathe to disagree with you, Sprowly...

I think the larger problem is that there is no cut-off play given the arrangement of the players, no?
Pedroia chased the ball. Scut covered the bag. Weiland's backing up third.
The whole thing is sorta a clusterfrick. Maybe Reddick threw to 3rd because there was no cutoff man, but if Pedey's in short right... I'm actually trying to figure out what should have happened.

His ERA in August was 1.23 and his opponent's OBP was 267. He's pitching better than his numbers indicate.Umm 6.18 ERA and he's the setup guy? How bout we crush him
