If only they had another option, I think the Sox would have cut bait on this quest for 200 a couple of weeks ago.

I was going to ask if we should put an asterisk next to Wakefield's 200th win because of the mockery the quest has become, but it looks like that's a moot point...

Pretty view of Toronto NESN just showed briefly. Last time I was there, a palm-sized ... uh, never mind.

Jeez Wake...

How is this man,

a Canadian? I would've bet $100 he was from Florida, Texas, or probably Florida.

I'm sure this makes his parents proud every time they see it and they should see it often just to remind them of what a dick their son is.

Obviously I agree with all the Crawford criticism, but enough already about the contract. The one thing we always lack around here is any semblance of patience---for anyone.
You can look up the numbers, but I remember that when the Mets got Tommy Agee from the White Sox, he was absolutely awful in 1968. Then, in 1969 he had a reasonable shot at being the MVP. Who knows why that happens. I'll forget about Crawford's comtact awfully fast if he has a great playoffs.

Aceves, Weiland, Dubront are all better options and have been for the last month. We just can't embarass Tim so we punt the division.

I am reluctantly joining Foulkey's Wake 199 For Life contingent. Gosh and golly, I am grateful for the role he's played, but I'm past ready to say bye-bye!

I'm not sure i see those are real options.
Weiland and Dubront just got here. And how much farther back would the Sox be without Aceves being the textbook long man since July or so?

Aceves fills a very important role for this team. If you haven't noticed, all of the starters have struggled to go deep into games recently.

Dubront is not a better option at this point. I am ignorant to Weiland's current prospects.

I mean, I know that Canada must have a reasonably-sized, generally tolerated douchebag quotient. But from the collection of abysmal tattoos to the corkscrewed hat to the facial expression to duct-taped 40 to the shirtlessness to the chain... I didn't know you had that type of douchebag. You know, the Floridian type.

Rich Harden would have given us a better chance to win than Wake.

Aceves is one of only three guys in the bullpen that Tito trusts and the only one who tends to pitch more than an inning. How can he possibly start?
