Jeter's end does not appear near this year. Posada is sitting on the bench like a guy who knows his time is over. Montero 2-for-2 today and ready to hit a bomb.

Too many pitches for CC, 69 through 4. He really hasn't been the same since that double rain delay game against Seattle.
I (sorta) hear what you're saying but is it realistic to think he was gonna keep up that pace? He was unhittable for a while there.

Me, too. I think CC has been in a lull right now (and the last few starts) before he goes off on another dominating stretch that hopefully lasts through October. The trick is how to pace the big guy through September because he never wants to miss a turn.I (sorta) hear what you're saying but is it realistic to think he was gonna keep up that pace? He was unhittable for a while there.
His lulls aren't too shabby, either.

But he went much further than not keeping up that pace - The rain delay game was his last July start, and in his 6 August starts he had a 4.68 ERA, with a .331 BAA, compared to 0.92 and .140 respectively in July.I (sorta) hear what you're saying but is it realistic to think he was gonna keep up that pace? Yeah.. I'm just so hesitant to point to specific turning points with these guys.. It's major speculation..
Plus CC's the best starter the Yanks have had in my fandom and I cant speak objectively about him.. He's been so awesome since coming here..

It's 5-2 in the 8th inning and Sabathia has thrown 107 pitches? Does he really have to stay in the game?

Of course, but no one comes back after two rain delays, and his performance dropped off the table since then.
Um, nice job, Soriano.

He just had him go one more batter, not bad.

CC's slider was sharp again today.. That's a great sign.. To me, his fastball command has always come & gone..
Lawrie just missed hitting that thing 450 feet
