On tomorrow's iPhone5 announcement, do you think it will be an incremental advancement or transformational change? Or something in between?
No one will know for sure until tomorrow, but this is from this morning:

I really hope if that has any ounce of truth, it's that they have an exclusive on the iphone 5 wimax version. Apple takes care of it's incumbent carriers, and shutting them out would be bad for them overall, especially with a carrier that has no network roadmap. There is a rumor out there now that the iPhone 5 is going to be an exclusive with Sprint only. Everyone else will get the 4G.
the highest probability seems to be 3 versions, a 4, 4s, and a 5. The 5 will be a new form factor, bigger screen and dual core processor. Or maybe it's 3gs, 4 and 4s.

I would go back to Sprint in a heartbeat if that were true. AT&T has been the worst carrier I've ever used and I've used them all except T-Mobile.
Honestly I've never had any real reason to complain about AT&T, and I've been using them since I got the first iPhone in 2007. Prior to that I had Verizon.
Can't really see myself moving carriers right now, especially if the new iPhone supports HSPA+, since that's a GSM technology and I have unlimited data still on my AT&T plan.

Here's a nice recap of all the rumors.
I won't be surprised if it's an internal-only upgrade, or a full hardware upgrade. I don't buy the Sprint-only iPhone5, though. Cook will get boo'd off the stage if they announce that.
Either way I don't care - I have the iPhone4 and am happy with it (though I might go for the Droid Nexus Prime when it comes out).

My predictions are: iPhone 4 is gone in the US but stays international for now in some countries (like China) for now.
iPhone 4S goes to Sprint, AT&T & Verizon get 4S and iPhone 5. iPhone 5 is HSPA+ on AT&T, 3G on Verizon, who knows about Sprint.
I'm hoping for the 4" screen on the 5 in 16 and 32 gig configurations obviously with the A5.
That being said who knows what's going to happen. I wouldnt' be surprised at anything. I think if its just the 4S or the stupid Spring iPhone5 exclusive it will be a very bad day for Apple. Granted they'll still sell a ton, but I think its a missed opportunity.

That being said, it'll be a homerun if it has ANY of these- 4g, larger screen, assistant, 64gb, hspa+. I'll be most happy with the first 2, pretty happy with HSPA, and happy with assistant and 64gb.

Personally, I'd love to see an iPod Touch 3G as well. I have a blackberry for work and if that came true, I'd go with just the iPod Touch 3G and my blackberry, I highly doubt that though.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they wouldn't make an iPhone that just didn't make calls but did everything else. I would imagine the market for a product like that would be extremely small.

I don't think Apple has ever streamed these. They usually release the video of it after it is over. I think it kinda adds to the mystique, but who knows why they do it. I think it's to make being in the room (for the tech media) feel very exclusive and VIP-esque.
They generally stream keynotes, but I'm not sure they stream these.

$2.99 is cheaper than going to CVS, buying a card, and mailing it. Like Amazon, the more I can do at home while watching sports, the better.I can't really see using it, but my wife will flip out for the Cards app.

Yea I agree. I just meant that my wife is the one who does all that as I haven't send a card in years. It is a cool idea though.$2.99 is cheaper than going to CVS, buying a card, and mailing it. Like Amazon, the more I can do at home while watching sports, the better.

Yeah, didn't mean to sound like you should be using. I don't even own any Apple products, but I find it impressive that they're able to take on new competition I didn't really think of. Wouldn't have thought Apple would put Hallmark out of business next.Yea I agree. I just meant that my wife is the one who does all that as I haven't send a card in years. It is a cool idea though.

I was kind of amazed to search for a Hallmark app and see that the only one they have is basically a store finder. Why some of these companies didn't think of these things first makes me wonder how out of the loop these types of companies are.

The Airplay feature that allows you to stream what's on your iPad over wifi onto the big screen is pretty cool (think: big Angry Birds).

What are you using, Frat? I'm not sure how many of my apps I actually use much anymore besides Instapaper.
