And I was on record as wanting Liverpool for buy him when Pompey went down. I think Milan got him for like 4M.

People talk about Wayne Rooney (or Essien a few years back) being the player who would make the best team if he was cloned 11 times....I think its Boateng. There is nothing he can't do now. Combine that with an engine that makes him one of the top 3 fittest players in the world and you have a specimen of a player.

Watching the replay of Zenit/Benfica, this absolutely has to be Karl Pilkington on color commentary for the final 10 minutes of the match. In regards to the shoddy goalkeeping, "It's supposed to be the Champions' League, not the Chumpions' League"

One of the nice things about the Russian teams playing at home is the game will start at noon time (eastern) so I can watch both games.

CSKA let Vagner Love go to Brazil but Doumbia is supposed to be an excellent striker and I'm excited to watch Alan Dzagoev play as I haven't seen much of him but he's rumored to be the next big thing. They kept Keisuke Honda in the transfer window and still have one of the highest rated keepers in the world (Akinfeev).

They haven't played in a competitive match in a few months so it'll be interesting to see how they start out. Then again, it'll be less than 20 degrees out at kickoff so I'm sure most of Real's players have never played in anything like this.

You know, when I play FIFA and use Napoli I feel weird because all I do is send it through to Hamsik/Lavezzi/Cavani. The rest of the outfield players basically stay in their half and don't let the other teams break.

Napoli is in the top 3 teams that I get matched up against. It's amazing how well that game mirrors them, right down to the scoring that seemingly comes from nowhere.

The crazy Russians already have, actually. They are in the middle of a transitional 18-month season that began in March 2011 and will end this spring. Even in their new fall-spring season, they have a break from late November to early March, though, so the early knockout rounds in European cups are always going be a struggle.

Yeah, England doesn't have much to worry about in that regard. Even if all English clubs were to lose every remaining European match, their 2011/12 coefficient is already higher than 4th-place Italy's coefficients from 07/08, 08/09, and 10/11.
