That was a beautiful pass right there. I mean, he really floated it right into the guy's hands.

BB is trolling you guys. He told Mallett to throw that INT-TD so the offense can get more playing time.

Who was Mallett targeting? Didn't seem to be a Patriot withing 10 yards.

I think the TE./Slot receiver got tripped off coming off the line. Still, it was an ill advised throw.

This kickoff rule kind of sucks, though I think it benefits the Pats.

Pats haven't had a young RB that looked this good in a while (yes, I know it's too early).

It has its pluses and minuses. On one hand, removing fluky plays favors the stronger team, which will generally help the Patriots. On the other hand, Gost was booming a lot of touchbacks already, so I think they see less of a benefit than some other teams too.

So, um, good scouting job on Ridley.

I'd love to see some Vereen in the next game or two.

It's an awful rule that's going to allow the Pats to carry 15 DL when they decide to kick every punt out of bounds and every kickoff through the endzone, negating the need for coverage team roster spots.

I like Mallett's playbook this series.

Option 1: Handoff to Ridley
Option 2: Throw to Ridley
Option 3: Throw out of bounds.

Ridley reminds me of Shonn Greene. Seems a bit small to be such a powerful runner, but really hits a hole with power and quickness.

After we drafted Vereen, I didn't think we would take another RB. So far, I'm happy I was wrong.

There's no way Ridley is 225. I simply refuse to believe that he can be that quick at that weight.

How quickly does the transition from college to the NFL happen for RBs (i.e. will we see Ridley/Vereen get some good playing time this season)? Seems like it would be easier than most other positions.

I'm suprised with Slater's catching skills in these two pre-season games, in training-camp he was absolutely terrible as a WR.

I just went to go look at Ridley's combine numbers. I was expecting his bench press # to be higher (18 reps). What really shocked me was the top guy was Shane Vereen with 31. I had no idea he was that strong.

Vereen's a lot bigger and stronger than people think. 5'10, 210--he's not a scat back.

I really thought he was a change of pace RB. Not Woodhead small, obviously, but I wasn't expecting him to lead all RB's in the bench. Can't wait to see him out on the field.

And Zoltan with a BOMB

I saw him play a bunch at Cal. Sort of a Marshall Faulk size/style back although obviously not as good. Really fast, strong enough to run inside the tackles, fast enough to go outside. Just a sweet pick.
