RMPS has been dead and I'm ready for the draft to start, so I went over to HFBoards and I think my IQ dropped 40 points; they really dial it up to 11 on draft day.

Hope that the Islanders are in love with Strome to drop one of Hamilton/Couturier/Murphy to 9.

Nice that it's symmetric.

9. Stanley Cup Champions (via Toronto)

I wonder what the highest pick a team has ever had after winning the cup anyway?

Rumor is that if Murphy falls to 9, the B's will not only take him but plan on calling him up right away.

The Bruins are the highest since the Islanders drafted LaFontaine 3 overall in 1983. Not sure if there was a champ higher than that.

Rumors that Columbus has grabbed Brian Campbell from Chicago too. Quite the talent upgrade for them this offseason if that's the case.

I'm switching to Versus for the draft for that very reason.

So their NHL draft analyst doesn't know anything about the players.

ESPNChiHawks: I was told Brian campbell was asked as recently as the last day or so to waive his no-trade but turned it down

For a team like Columbus that matters a lot less.

Yeah. He's brutal, even though he hits once in a while (Richards).

Alright Chia, do what the rest of us are doing and just sit back and see who's left at #9. Take BPA and be done with it. Don't mess around.

Fingers crossed for Murphy or Hamilton if we go D.

Chiarelli said today he's not looking to move anyone off his NHL roster.

Anyway, whoever we pick to night is getting a sweet Axelsson jersey.

Well Richards has already said he's not waiving his NMC and I assumed Eklund was talking about signing him as a FA. I'm totally confused by that report now.

Eklund sucks.

Source close to Ryan Smyth says he's headed to Edmonton. Kings and Oilers still working out details. Is this drama finally over?
