Van Persie talks the ref into booking Malouda, what a classy fellow as always

Thought he deserved the card for that foul but can't say I liked Van Persie's lobbying.

Gotta love professional footballers, 10 feet from the sideline, injured, lay on the ground get the game stopped.

Theo should have kicked the ball out himself instead of conceding possession to grab his hamstring (assuming that's who you're talking about).

The 1st one is a def shot at RVP, cant stand him, the 2nd one was referring to Walcott, but could easily refer to any number of players.

On today's game, wow, we are shit in the League. IF Di Matteo wants the job, these consistently toothless Premier League performances have to improve quickly, once again, very unimpressive. Hope I dont have to see Sturridge, Kalou, Torres, or Malouda, and especially for Boz for a long time

I wasn't sure where to post this, Chelsea thread or CL thread. For any resident Chelsea fans, that was a game for the ages. Playing one of the best teams in history away from home, down to ten men, scoring two goals with ten men........enjoy! Unfuckingbelievable. I can't believe what I just witnessed. Does Di Matteo get the job full time?

Fuck worrying about the final and the banned players, you have three weeks to do that....just enjoy the moment and read all the papers tomorrow.

If Bobby D doesn't get the full time gig, Chelsea is dumb. IMO, the squad that was playing under AVB would not have shown the level of heart and determination Chelsea had today.

Emenalo quietly and out of left field gets a deal for Marko Marin done, can't wait. Should be a nice younger replacement for Malouda.

Here's a pointless youtube video about the left wing/attacking midfielder:

Short notice work trip has me in London this week. Just grabbed a ticket for Wednesday's Newcastle match. Between the last two weeks of play and tonight's Manchester showdown, it looks like I picked the right year to start watching football...

Hey, an Atletico de Madrid fan here. You guys want Courtois back? Please take him back. A few terrible mistakes the last few games have cost Atletico crucial points to reach the Champions League.

Against Betis, Courtois lets one through his legs (about at 1:00)

Against Real Sociedad, he stands still rather than pouncing on--or at--the ball (about at 1:00):

I know, you're right. He's been great and has certainly shown that he has a bright future. But can't a guy be frustrated when a talented keeper makes rookie mistakes, especially when these mistakes contributed to Atleti's missing of Champions?

In a move that's been in the works for a while, Chelsea have made an offer to buy the Battersea Power Station. It's about 2 miles from Stamford Bridge on the south bank of the river. The power station is a Grade II* listed building, so it would likely have to look substantially the same if repurposed for soccer.

Posted Image

The high walls that run the length of it are too close to each other to hold a pitch, so I'd expect those to come down and the Art Deco towers at each end to remain if Chelsea redevelops it. Those are probably the really relevant elements anyway. I don't think there's a conceptual drawing online yet.

Hopefully the Chelsea pitch owners and the powers that be at Chelsea can work out there differences, in terms of conceptual art:

Real bought a custom made island; Chelsea has to make do with a historic factory building.

It will make the ceremonial bi-annual firing of the manager more interesting when Roman puts the man in a rowboat and makes him float away in shame.

Not impressed with our strategy once up 2-0 and for the reaminder of the game, fortunate to hangon. That said, what ever it took. Just happy to get the win. Cech in what has been a down year for him makes an incredible save, good for him. JT , Lampard, Drogba, Cech, Cole, and Ferreira lift their 4th FA cup together, for Ashley Cole it is his 7th total, and 10th major trophy win.

I'm pretty sure that Real agreed to have its name and logo used on a project that will be financed and built by Ras Al Khaimah. Both the emirate and Real are happy to have everyone run with the idea that it's Real's project, though.

Are those Olympic pools by the river, or docking slips for the Roman navy of yachts?

facts schamcks!

Not much point in comparing CFC to the biggest club in Europe anyways. IF, and there are so many huge ifs about Chelsea actually building a new stadium there, the club will benefit immensely. I just hope they keep the smoke stacks

Marko Marin already coming in, multiple source all week reporting Hulk is on his way(including his agent). The last time we had two deals worked out before the summer was Cech and Robben.

Also, there seems to be a game of some significance this weekend.

hoping for
-----------Torres--------Drogba

----------------Mata

---------Lampard----Essien
---------------Mikei

cole, Luiz, Cahill, Boz

more likely is
Drogba
Kalou
Mata
Lamps
Essien
Mikel
same defense

Hulk is going to the highest bidder. Porto made that clear by pretending they wouldn't take less than 100 million euros. Assuming PSG and the Spanish giants are bidding, I bet you could get a lot better value for Roman's blood money elsewhere. He's very, very good, but he's not incredible (Man City callback).

I dont see either Spanish team having interest, nor would I would I worry about PSG, can't see him wanting to make a lateral move.

How much he is worth, or how good he is, is just a matter of opinion, if he played in the Premier League and I watched him more than a handful of times I'd be more inclined to have one.
