Bartolo Colon's IP:

2011: 159 + tonight's start.
2009: 62.1
2008: 39
2007: 99.1
2006: 56.1
Age: 38

Freddy Garcia's IP:
2011: 146.2
2010: 157
2009: 56
2008: 15
2007: 58
Age 34, a week from 35.

The fact that you got that many innings from those two guys is amazing. the fact that they were really good in those innings is all the more lucky.
Garcia has pitched 1 full run better, 4.64 ERA in 2010 v 3.62 ERA in 2011. His ERA+ last year was 93. His 122 ERA+ this year is his best since 2004.

Colon wasn't even in MLB in 2010 and he put up a 110 ERA+.

Meanwhile Dice-k needs a new elbow ligament, Clay has a stress fracture, and Lackey is ____ (fill in the blank). From a Boston fan's perspective, 2011 is an unfair year in baseball. You took two used jalopies and turned them into sports cars meanwhile we had a few untimely wrecks.

I don't know who sold their soul to the devil but if this season happened 100 times how often would these results occur?

I hate the Yankees and their fans as much as anyone (probably more) and I think Wing is perfectly justified in bumping this thread to his heart's desire. I also have to commend Sean Berry for coming in here and taking his lumps.

Agreed on Berry, it was a stand up move to come back in here.

For the record I thought the premise of the thread was questionable at best, and that's obvious with the joke about it in the Mo thread and the fringe joke. Others have more sand in their vaginas than I do.

Ah, so trolling is okay if you're a Dope. Good to know.

You didn't know that yet?

I admit I was bitter at first, but I now realize it's unfair to blame the yankees for the sox's predicament. I mean, they did help us much as they could with those 12 losses against us.

It's 2005 Aaron Small and Shawn Chacon all over again, except for a whole season this time instead of mid-season additions.

The Yankees seem to have decent scouts when it comes to evaluating pitching reclamation projects.
