DarrenDreger: Bryzgalov wants to be paid as a top player...not just a top goalie. Demands too rich for Yotes.
Real_ESPNLeBrun: Am told by source that Bryzgalov contract demands with Coyotes were off the charts

The Flyers have acquired the rights for impending ufa Ilya Bryzgalov from Phoenix for a 3rd round pick in the 2012 draft, future considerations and forward Matt Clackson
Seems like a steep price to pay when you consider their cap situation. How exactly can they afford 5-6M for Bryzgalov? They don't even have that coming off the books this season. I don't think the Cap is suppose to go up 10M next season is it? Am I missing something here?

It will go up by ~3-4m, but still, if he wants $6m that seems like too much for what he does for you.Seems like a steep price to pay when you consider their cap situation. Although I would note that Philly with Bryzgalov makes them really good. Maybe its worth paying the premium so you don't have to make 15 goalie changes per series.

It doesn't make them as good if they have to jettison some of their depth, or Jeff Carter, to sign him.It will go up by ~3-4m, but still, if he wants $6m that seems like too much for what he does for you.

Obviously this helps them to avoid offer sheets from other teams but if they don't ink a deal with Parise before the arbitration hearing, I don't like where that goes.

I'm told the upper limit of the 2011-12 NHL salary cap will be $64 million. The lower limit, or floor, will be $48 million.
2 hours ago via web
If true, this would leave Boston in fantastic shape. Florida would need to spend about $30 mil to hit the floor.

Has anyone come across a good list of rankings of the UFA?
Capgeek is pretty good. Allows you to sort the players by various stats.

Thanks. Wow that list blows. I'd rather look for salary dumps then spending on those guys for the most part, especially forwards.

I can confirm the Devils have re-sign unrestricted free agent defenseman Jay Leach. It's a 2-way deal with NHL salary of $525,000.
Mr. Kathryn Tappen has re-signed with NJ.

Hearing that the "mystery" third NHL team on Jagr's list is MTL. JJ intrigued at possibility of hooking up with Tomas Plekanec.

Just spoke with Joe Nieuwendyk: says he was told today by Brad Richards' agent Pat Morris that they are going to July 1 and won't waive NMC
Sucks for Dallas they can't get at least a pick for his rights.

And considering what Bryzgalov's set to make in UFArmageddon, I don't blame him. Nieuwendyk was in a pickle and lost out, mostly because Marc Crawford is an atrocious coach.

Sources say Robyn Regehr has been asked to waive his no-move clause and accept a trade to the Buffalo Sabres. Details to follow.

Rumor is Luke Adam and the #16 pick for Regehr. That's a pretty hefty price for Buffalo.

LeBrun tweeted earlier that preliminary talks were taking place between the Kings and Flames regarding Ryan Smyth. Speculation that the Flames are trying to make room for Smyth with the proposed Regehr trade.

Living in Buffalo I know a few people who I would have to talk off a ledge. Hell, I wouldn't even blame them. Luke Adam alone would be a steep price.

Wait, what? You're upset the B's traded for Kaberle at the deadline because Regher got traded in the offseason (and wasn't traded at the deadline)?Seeing Regher in Buffalo when he could have been had for less than what the B's spent on Kaberle will bother me to no end.
Yeah, this whole Stanley Cup thing really sucks.

Wasting a first a top prospect and a second for a guy the team could have won without sucks. Don't get it twisted. And for the record, Feaster was begging for picks and prospects when he took over the then struggling Flames.

Was Regehr even available? I mean something beyond the rumor stage?
If he was, considering the Flames were "desperate for picks and prospects," why wasn't he moved? Perhaps he had a NTC?

1. How can you possibly know if Regehr would've accepted a trade to Boston? He seems to be balking at waiving his NMC for Buffalo as is.Wasting a first a top prospect and a second for a guy the team could have won without sucks. Don't get it twisted. And for the record, Feaster was begging for picks and prospects when he took over the then struggling Flames.
2. How can you possibly know if the Bruins could have won the Stanley Cup without Kaberle?
3. How can you possibly know if the Bruins could have gotten a similarly-regarded PMD for less than what they paid for Kaberle? I'll take this one - the only other PMDs moved were Alex Goligoski (netted Neal and Niskanen), Ian White (he is awful), and Dennis Wideman (no comment necessary).
4. You do realize that the 2nd is only added because the Bruins got to and won this thing:

5. Sutter resigned on December 28, 2010. The Flames' moves under Feaster involving draft picks:
- acquired Fredrik Modin for a 7th at the deadline
- traded Tim Erixon and a 5th to New York for 2 2nds and Roman Horak on June 1
So while Feaster decided to acquire Fredrik Modin and keep impending UFAs Steve Staios, Alex Tanguay, Adam Pardy, Anton Babchuk, and Brendan Morrison, you claim he was begging for draft picks for Robyn Regehr.
