If there's basketball next season I hope Danny isn't afraid to pull the trigger on the right deals to keep this team relevant.

It's impossible to keep this team relevant. They need 2-3 new elite players. Not possible.

It would have been nice if JO could have brought a little more to the table tonight. It is going to be interesting to see how this team responds in game 5. I will be looking forward to it. This team has nothing to lose right now and hopefully will play with a little more intensity all game long.

We're giving him flak - KG was bad tonight.

But he sort of has a lot more capital than Bosh, so he isn't gonna get the same kind of shit.

No doubt about that. But an average offensive performance from KG wins this game.

Lesson for next time - when you have the ball at the end of regulation, with a tie game, don't dribble around killing the clock and then launch an off-balance jump shot. Drive to the damn hoop and give yourself a chance to win. OT was a death sentence.

This. You've got to drive with about 5 seconds left and if the double comes, kick out. Pierce had legs tonight and when he went strong to the hoop, either he got a good look at the rim, got fouled or had someone open to kick to. Just poor execution on the most important game of the Celtics season.

Howard and Rondo is basically Orlando now. I'm not even sure it's possible to get Howard, but they would need 1 more also. I'm not even sure Rondo, Howard and CP3 as SG would do it(and that's probably not possible anyway).

Big Baby has been completely terrible, but I really think it's his knees that have caused this. Even Baby never gained weight like this during the season.

How do bad knees cause him to gain weight? It would seem just the opposite--the extra weight fucked up his knees.

Hired a nutritionist?

He plays on a professional sports franchise. He has all of that stuff, plus countless other health perks, at his disposal.

There's no excuses.

He doesn't have a clue how to eat properly to perform for the game he's paid to play. He thinks lots of carbs gives him energy for a tough game. High protein pregame is what keeps blood sugar up pregame. If the glycogen isn't there by your pregame meal, you're already fucked, and the excess carbs are just piling on fat. He needs someone to teach him the physiology of nutrition. He's a dolt when it comes to fueling himself. And essentially he's cost the Celtics the 2011 part of their championship window.

There are other culprits as well, of course.

Would you eat a log of it to make that happen? :rolling:

Seriously, the Celtics are still in it until we are eliminated and until then there is no sense in worry about what next year will bring. The "Big Three" has had a very good run and when it all began 4 years ago we all knew what we were getting and were grateful for it.

Ehh, I thought he was fine. 8 points, 4 rebs, solid rotations on D. Wasn't a huge factor, but about what you can expect from him

1-10 shooting for KG. I love the guy, but after Game 7 in last year's Finals and this stinker of an offensive performance, I have to wonder if the guy didn't cost the Celtics two banners. I turly believed that if the Cs won this game tonight, they would win the title.

There's plenty of blame to go around. How does a bench that plays 67 total minutes get only ONE defensive rebound?

BBD allowing himself to become a fat cow makes me ill.

I think if we won this game, it was finished in 6.

No young superstars are coming to Boston. Time to build up some assets in the draft (or through trading rondo, kg, or allen) and then deal them for some veterans in a few years.

If KG's knee didn't betray him in '09 we're looking at a 4 peat right now. I truly believe that.

Bad knees = can't run around as much and can't stay in shape.

Baby actually lost weight in the first half of the year, I just find it hard to believe that he suddenly got so lazy as to gain a good maybe 20 pounds. He also messed up his knee earlier this year. I think he's got lingering issues.

I totally agree. And if this game was scheduled for Tuesday night, we win it for sure. KG just didn't have any legs tonight to finish off his shots.

Why can't one of these dickweeds like LeBron go up for an alley oop in a meaningless regular season game in Utah and screw up the rest of his career?

Yeah, I do. He's never gained this much weight during a season before. I guess you can argue he just got lazy, but he was so motivated the first half I just don't buy it.

And he has documented knee issues.

Perk wasnt winning us a title last year, and he wouldnt have this year

Agreed. But, he might've been the player who broke Wade...

He's got lingering issues because he kept eating when he had to stay off his knees. He eats like it doesn't matter, when in fact its what's standing between him being a marginal player and being a key rotation piece. He's not Oliver Miller, but it's the same issue. He's clueless.

I'm nattering, but I'm ripped they got this close only to let it slither through their fingers when that was entirely unnecessary.

Huge props to West on his defense on Wade. He was Posey-esque.

This. You've got to drive with about 5 seconds left and if the double comes, kick out. Pierce had legs tonight and when he went strong to the hoop, either he got a good look at the rim, got fouled or had someone open to kick to. Just poor execution on the most important game of the Celtics season.

People continuing to crap on Pierce for this despite the obvious fact he was waiting for a screen on the ball or away from it while Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett suffered acute dementia and kept running into each other for 5 straight seconds.
