Cliche titles have worked thus far, why the eff not continue?

I started my new job this week. The first week of the rest of my life, if you will.

With the Celtics down, it's the Red Sox keeping me sane.

Keep the streak going.

Win!

One pitch at a time.

Grind the other team to a little nub so they can make amputee porn.

And for those of us who have no impact on the game...Winning today puts us at .500. Winning today and tomorrow puts us over. Depending on what Tampa does, it could move us into a tie for second as well.

With all the early season struggles, we sit only 2 games out of a post season slot via the wild card.
(Not my desired route but a viable alternative.)
The Angels are one of the few teams ahead of us.
Let's reverse that tonight.

Those pics really bring to mind the old cliche (or is it truth) that LH hitters are more low ball hitters for power than RH hitters are. Or, maybe that one will die with Joe Morgan having been put out to pasture. I believe it though. Nice pictures!

Build on the last two offense breakouts and the three wins with more of the same and more of the same, please.

I will be disappointed if the game is rained out. I was looking forward to a hearty meal of cherubim and seraphim.

Seems like the others only interrupted losing

Hopefully they don't get too trigger happy on calling the game. The rain should be on the way out by first pitch. They might have a brief delay, but they should get the game in if they are patient.

Lineup:

RED SOX (14-15)
Ellsbury CF
Pedroia 2B
Gonzalez 1B
Youkilis 3B
Ortiz DH
Lowrie SS
Cameron RF
Crawford LF
Varitek C

Pitching: RHP Josh Beckett (2-1, 2.65)

Mild surprise to have Cameron out there vs. RH-Santana. Drew hasn't hit very well recently.

It's probably just Francona giving Drew a regular day off. It looks like a pretty solid lineup to me, and about what I would've expected. I'd like Crawford ahead of Cameron probably, but that's a minor quibble.

B-ref link Ervin Santana career vs Sox bats

Beckett career splits

Santana career splits

Santana, you can't hide.

Probably also another Tito batter vs pitcher matchup thing going on too. Drew has been awful vs Santana and Cameron is 2 for 2 with a walk off him. Couple that with Drew slumping, it was a great excuse to give him a day off.

There could be some delays near first pitch, but any steady stuff should be out of here for the most part. The back edge is pretty narrow

I don't think this system is moving out of here as fast as you think it might. Still raining here in the Hartford area and it promises to do so for a while yet. Boston is going to get what's here now.

I appreciate your "power of positive thinking" approach but it really doesn't look too good for getting this in.

Having said that I just saw this on the Globe site:

"But Terry Francona just said he has been told the Red Sox and Angels should be able to get the game in tonight. The gates will open on time, but he advised that the game may not start in time."

Hey, time will tell. In any case I can't imagine this one being played in very good conditions.

Sweet lineup, too bad their best hitter is still hitting 8th. And hardly ever plays.

Their best hitter is a guy who put up an .848 OPS in the PCL last year? They're fucked.

The picture is still beautiful after all these years...but, I'm really looking for the moving picture. Like a photograph in the Harry Potter series. One that moves. Over and over again, so I can watch him throw his arms up on repeat while I fall asleep at night.
