I have been thinking along these lines. Perhaps someone who can draw or do calligraphy can render it a lot better. I left room on the right for any additional text.
That is an interesting idea.

I kind of hate the new tagline (just awkward pacing), but like this option.
EDIT - Aside from the "Reds Sox" bit

I was getting the same vibe.
Edit: As for the four originals, all look like variations on a deflating balloon theme in which the air is escaping while making a "Sosh" sound.

I like this concept. Do we really need the tagline in the logo?I know the "pros" are working on it - but couldn't help myself & sketched out an idea over lunch. The operative word is "sketch" - it's just a direction a real logo could take.

Yeah, this one doesn't suck as a concept. I'm a sucker for this type of "logo within a logo" stuff.
(No offense to some of the other posters who have sketched ideas, of course-- I certainly couldn't do any better).
I agree on ditching the tagline. Well, it can stay somewhere on the main page, it just looks tacky as part of the logo. Imagine it on letterhead-- awful, right?

Ok i like this one then, but can we get subtle red stitching on the baseball?assuming unlimited revisions this one also has appeal to me
I fucking hate the font and the hackneyed, forced baseball but seeing this is first and foremost a discussion forum it kinda works

So the original consensus was this type of design wa the direction to go in. Having to pick from the option above which do people prefer? And yes, I understand some people will not like it, but whatever we just need something up there we can use.

This is probably the best one in the whole thread. 86 the tagline and it's better than any of the other options I've seen in here.

I like that one but i'd lose the khaki color and replace it with something else, and perhaps make the S in SoSH look more like a baseball because it is already very round. or maybe put stitching on it to convey the idea of a baseball. I also think the font can be less wonky because the H looks an H and a C somehow.

I still vote for this space to be the greyish-blue that surrounds it instead of white.

All the baseball themed ones are ridiculously terrible. Like beyond horrible.
This is the best option to date.
Picking from those options, I'd go with this one as well.

That logo is cool conceptually but can you smooth it out? It has to be clean and crisp, otherwise it looks like someone drew it and scanned it in and, most importantly, doesn't print well (the problem with SoSHLogo v1)
This is the hard part with taking user submissions , asking for multiple edits.
BTW if nobody volunteers we could pay someone as well.

Or white on blue:
What about incorporating this idea into the framework of a classic/vintage baseball pennant?
That would create a defined border/shape to the logo and lend an air of baseball history.
these are some examples of old school pennants where we might find inspiration:

Like this? What about incorporating spike's pennant idea and flipping the bat around, but keeping the letters the same. That way it fits well on a pennant and the big S is at the barrel of the bat.
