Chance to hand out some AFC East championship garb this weekend in Buffalo. A victory clinches that and the guarantee that the only road trip left would be a possible jaunt to Dallas. I expect the celebration to be muted in Western NY should we get the win, but I do hope Ty Law's cousin joins in the fun.

Take the number of points scored by the Patriots in this game and add 50.

Is this higher or lower than the number of games the Red Sox will win in 2011?

Hehe, funny. I'd expect the Pats to put up something like 34, so lower.

Jesus. Speaking of Ty Law's cousin, unearthed this: http://www.cbc.ca/sp.../law001220.html Forgot how many issues there were with those teams.

Fun fact: Since the 31-0 'They hate their coach' game in '03, the Pats are 6-0 in Buffalo. They've outscored the Bills 180-50 in those six games.

I've never understood why Norwood's kick is portrayed as a choke or so tragic in Buffalo. It was 47 yards! Not exactly a gimme try. He's taken way too much heat for that loss. I think he also kicked really well in the next season's playoffs, hitting all his kicks including a game winner in the AFC Championship. Anyway, just sayin'.

Less fun fact: Bills are 4-2 since starting 0-8. Much too little, much too late, but Bill has talking points that go beyond Sunday night's game.

Yes. And in contrast to the rampant unprofessionalism we've seen this year in other places -- most notably, Dallas -- the Bills have played hard every week. They are probably relishing this week, and next week at NYJ. I'll gladly take a butt ugly 9 to 6 win with no Pats injuries, thank you.

Keep in mind they are a .500 team if they didn't bungle 3 ot losses to playoff teams.

They do not quit and this is their superbowl. Will not be a cake walk.

He's been listed as having a 'hip' injury for at least a few weeks.

I'm hoping they're erring on the side of caution with some players, but who knows.

EDIT - FTR, Hernandez, Cunningham, and Pryor had limited participation in Friday's practice.

That's going to be a long game for the starting D-line, again. We'll also be seeing a lot more 3 wide sets, so hopefully Edelman is ready to catch the balls coming his way tomorrow.

Doesn't BUF have a porous run D but capable pass D. I wonder if we are going to see the pats try to grind this one out, perhaps get Fred Taylor involved, esp if it is windy.

Just win today folks -- no Hernandez hurts, but not having Connolly and Cunningham. I have to say the dreaded rookie wall may be hitting some of the younger guys like Hernandez, Cunningham, and Deaderick.

And I give out a poke in the eye to Spikes for not declaring his medication. Ugh.

Yep. 2 TE sets with Gronk and Crumpler. Pound the ball with LawFirm. Buffalo's run D is awful, so they should get a ton of rushing yards today. Then run some play action to Welker and Branch. Pats put up 24 points and win 24-20 in a grind-em-out sort of game. Which will be just fine with me.

Really good football quote from Donte Whitner:

"They're attacking the weakness of the coverages that Brady sees week in and week out," safety Donte Whitner said. "So we have to do a good job of mixing up the things we do, throw some new things in there to attack him. At one point, Cleveland (the last team to beat New England) dropped all 11 guys into coverage without rushing anybody.

"Sometimes it takes things like that to beat quarterbacks who have seen every defense and know where to go with the ball. You have to do some unconventional things sometimes."

Did CLE really drop 11 into coverage multiple times? I don't recall that. Might be some interesting scheming to contend with today.

Me too. Which means they'll probably kill them. The games I weren't worried(Cleveland, GB, Indy) they played their worst. Something tells me TB12 will play his best in the first real big hat and t-shirt game since TGTSNBN(The Game That Shall Never Be Named).

With the potential for each of these teams to have the ball run down their throat, this game could be over by 3:30 and end something like 20-17. Since Evans is on IR and the Bills really only have one receiver, I'd love to see the Pats playing 8 in the box with Chung and maybe even Page cheating up.

Why the hell would you be worried about this game? The Bills may be better than their record but they're still not good. And the downside is what? A win next week or even a Jets loss clinches everything that can be clinched. In short, the downside is too trivial to be worried about this game.

And frankly, the Bills aint good enough to be worried about.

Just remind him about Bart Scott throwing a flag into the stands and costing the Ravens the chance to knock off the undefeated Patriots til his head explodes.
