So this time BB punts, and wins. Barely.
This time was 4th and 7, not 4th and 2.
But no doubt we'll hear crap this this all week regardless.

I still believe it. I can still root against him and be happy as fucking that just happened, but I still believe it.

Throw another pick and get a standing ovation."

Care to repeat that?
I will. Manning is the best QB in football by quite a bit. Throwing a pick near the end of the game doesn't change my mind.

Manning is better than Brady. Not much better, but better.
Oh really?

If it was this one pick I might agree with you.

Not to mention,if the correct spot is made on that play...

Lucky how?
Big picture. On that play the pressure and a great catch by Sanders were not luck by any means...but at that point in the game we're looking at a FG and OT at best...short of anything but an improbable turnover. Which they got.

How about throwing 3 picks at key times.I will. Manning is the best QB in football by quite a bit. Throwing a pick near the end of the game doesn't change my mind.

Am I off in thinking that the play calling in the fourth quarter was shit, in that it was terribly conservative? As if O'Brien was petrified...I'll admit I'm not thinking too clearly, too many endorphins!

I think Manning is also the best passing machine ever, but picks like that are simply Favresque (e.g., last year's AFCCG pick)...to ignore that decision is senseless, even if you do live in Indiana.

Indy's run D was atrocious all game, so it was correct to run at least a few times on the last couple drives (e.g., Lawfirm gained 10 yards on first down on the last drive). Run-run-pass all the time probably isn't the way to go though.

Butler played some pretty important minutes down the stretch and seemed to play alright. His improvement could bode well for the defense's progression.
That secondary's got nowhere to go but up!

You're not alone on that at all. One would think O'Brien would have learned how to call the appropriate plays to close out a game like that after what happened last season. But noooooo...Am I off in thinking that the play calling in the fourth quarter was shit, in that it was terribly conservative? The run plays on the final drive, with the exception of BJGE's first run, were ridiculous. If you're going to run against that crappy run defense, run between the tackles. Running stretch plays and anything else outside plays to the only strength their run defense has, ie speed.

Anyone catch what Koppen and Brady were so pissed about on the last snap?
My impression was the pointless timeout pissed him off

I don't think so. It looked worse than that. I wonder if someone was trying to step on Koppen's hand or something?

Yeah, that was what confused me. I assumed one of the DTs did something stupid like swatting the ball, but they didn't show it again and there wasn't any mention of it by the broadcast. He seemed to be yelling at the ref too...

Bob Lamey, the Colts play-by-play radio guy, is a clown and nobody outside of Indianapolis takes him seriously. In fact, one of the columnists in the Indianapolis Star went out of his way to bash Lamey and say how much of a homer he is and how it's impossible to listen to his call and know what's happening in the game.

Here's the thing: If you had to pick one QB to win one game, who would it be?
I think Peyton is better overall, but I'd pick Brady or Montana to win the big game. That has to count for something, doesn't it?

I think they did tighten up a little bit in the fourth, and I wonder if that time that Freeney (I think?) nearly got to Brady, forcing the incompletion, might have gotten in their heads a bit. Other than that, I thought the protection was very good all game. Brady had one near pick, but for the most part I thought it would have been sufficiently low risk to continue throwing the ball a bit more than they did. Who cares, they won, let's go home and cackle about peyton throwing three picks.

I had the matchup I wanted, but just couldn't get everything behind the throw. Can't explain it. Pats also had moved coverages and had a couple of misreads. I'm just sick about not extending the game.

Oh please. Did you read the last ten pages? All of these "New England fans" have been saying the same thing. The "oh really" is in response to the GOAT throwing his third back breaking INT of the game and to poke fun at some of the hysteria in the thread.Tom Brady is our QB and I am a fan, but Peyton Manning is better. Manning just said that McCourty pick was result of Pats mixing up coverages and confusing him. Kudos to BB.
No, it was due to McCourty holding Garcon.
