Patriots embark on a trip to The Dawg Pound, where BB is still hounded by the ghost of Kosar, and former Pats Watson, Yates, Ventron (Ray), Clayton (Thomas), Adams (Titus), and Mangini roam.

In most likelyhood, this is your opposing QB: http://sports.yahoo....l/players/24060, although Wallace is still a possibility.

My mom's family is from Cleveland so they're my second favorite team.

That said, I refuse to lose to a quarterback with a noticeable unibrow. Win please

Looking at the TV maps, this is the smallest viewing area that I can remember.

It's just New England and Ohio, along with one part of Arkansas.

The "us against the world rallying cry" is going to be tough this week unless the Great Adam Schefter constitutes the world.

I find it interesting that - despite the quick turnarounds and knee-jerk nature of sports media - few have caught onto the fact the Pats don't run a spread offense anymore.

Do these guys just form opinions on teams that take years to change?

Chung is out for the game tomorrow. I don't mind him taking this game if it means he's back for Pitt and Indy.

Yes. Also, I'm fairly certain that the greater access they have to all the games means that they actually watch fewer games in any sort of meaningful way.

I think Mangini mitigates the trap-esque nature of the game. I gotta think at least one of the vets pulled the other players aside and said something to the effect of, "Look, Bill ain't gonna say so, but..."

I think the Pats win comfortably (10-14 points). People are really overrating this Browns team based solely on the win over NO. They have some talent (like every team in the NFL), but they don't have enough to beat good teams consistently. If the Pats take care of the ball, they won't have much of a problem.

Normally I groan when Simmons uses dated movie references, but I though his quote for his pick for this game was good: "Pats -4.5 over Browns. "It's time to answer for Santino, Carlo."

Who's to say that Belichick won't say something like "I hate that lying ratfuck, and I would consider it a personal favor from each of you if would go out there and humiliate him"to the players? I'm smelling a big win this week.

Win today. Ultimate trap game.

I almost started a topic about this yesterday but didn't have the time. But I got to wondering, when was the last time the Pats lost a "trap" game? You can go back through the past 4 seasons and I can't find a loss that would be considered a "trap" game. I think BB does a great job preparing his guys every week and focusing on the team they're playing and not worrying about anything else or who they'll play in 2 or 3 weeks.

This year, the Pats lost at the Jets (when we had Buff and Mia the next 2 weeks).

Last season, the Pats lost at the Jets in week 2 (followed by games vs Falcons, Ravens), at the Broncos in week 5 (with Tenn, TB on deck), at the Colts in week 10 (with the Jets up next), at NO in week 12, at Mia in week 13, and a meaningless game at the Texans in week 17. There really aren't any losses here that can be considered a "trap".

In 2008, they lost to the Dolphins in week 3 with a bye the following week, at the Chargers in week 6 (with Den, STL the next 2 weeks), at the Colts in week 9, vs. the Jets in week 11, and the Steelers in week 13.

In 2007, I'm almost 100% positive the NFL didn't have a season this year. No need for anyone to verify that. I'm pretty sure it's a proven fact.

In 2006, they lost to the Broncos in week 3, with Cincy on deck, the Colts and Jets back to back in close games weeks 9 and 10, and at the Dolphins in week 14.

You have to go back to 2005 when you can find losses that could be considered "trap games". They lost 6 games that season, including one at Carolina in week 2 with the Steelers on deck and another in week 12 at the Chiefs with the Jets the following week.

I don't consider any game against the likes of Indy, NYJ, Mia, and Pitt to qualify for a "trap game". I also don't consider any losses where we weren't playing anyone of any significance the following week to be a "trap" loss. It may not have been a good loss, but not one I'd consider a trap.

The Pats have done a really good job of preparing for these "trap" games and I don't expect that to change this week. I say we win 28-13 today.

Win today. Ultimate trap game.

I can't remember the BB/Brady Pats ever losing and thinking afterward that it was because they took the other team lightly or looked ahead. I'm not saying that it can't happen but I do think that the reason why the Pats lose is often, if ever, that.

Was posting when Elbab posted and the doobell rang before I hit send.....What he said.

Yesterday I was going to start a thread about whether or not the "trap" game is really even a legitimate phenomena. In part, I think lots of what seem to be trap games don't look like trap games by the end of the season because it turned out they were better than people thought and stuff like that.

But then I, uh, didn't. Someone should totally do that though.

Go Pats!!

Indeed. Please refer to the beginning post of the thread. This is NOT a trap game.

This is a game where the outstanding linebacking crew of the Browns may stifle the short- and middle-range passing game, where Cribbs break one out, and McCoy does not turn a ball over, but it's not a trap game.
