I liked this team's mettle even though the bullpen and SP did not live up to expectations. The odds were really stacked against this club from the beginning as a result of so many injuries to so many starters. Sure the team was able to stick around because the MFY and the MFRays played like crap over the past 50 games, but I liked the way the team hung together. Kudos to the players and to Tito for keeping their heads up and playing out the string.
"Fitting" loss and certainly representative of the tougher moments through out the season, but I still liked this team. Better health and better luck next season.

if it is any consolation, Eric Hinski hit a 2 r homer tonight for the braves.
It's not. Want the Braves to miss playoffs.

Agreed -- nice post. Not sure this is the wake or if there will be a formal funeral ceremony, but I wanted to stop by and pay my respects.

Sean Berry was right. A few less injuries and a little bit of bullpen help and this team is a monster. This teams wins 115 games with just an average bullpen.

Well put. The same was true of Sunday night's game.
As someone said way upthread, I feel both sad and relieved. Watching through the bitter end of a pennant race in a year like this makes the 2004s and 2007s of our baseball lives all the sweeter.

How much of it will be back in 2011? that's the key.
