After the game on August 1st, the Orioles were in last place in the AL East, 41 games below .500 and 34.5 games out of the lead. Today, they are still 31 games out but since the advent of Buck Showalter as manager there has been a turn-around. Baltimore has the best record in the AL East and the second best record (behind Minnesota) since he took over on August 3rd. They have also allowed the fewest runs in the AL East since then.

And since September 1, they're 10-7 while we're 9-8. So, it should be a decent matchup. But I'd say we have the edge, since my double-secret sources tell me the birds are wearing their new unis tonight.
Edit: pronoun agreement, or lack thereof (doh!)

Van is the man, and the Red Sox will do the Moondance in Baltimore.
My turn to be confused. Who's playing where tonight? Maybe the game is actually in Tupelo, homey?

No, Rembrat's stolen Foulkey avatar shtick, I thought we were supposed to root for the Rays because we still have 6 vs. NYY and the Rays have the easy schedule and they're only a half game apart? Not sure whether you were replying to me, but if so, you were absolutely right. Now fixed, I think. Thanx.

Sorry, my mistake. I meant to say that the Red Sox will do the Moondance on the Baltimore Orioles. No need to step lightly.

The Yankees can and would pitch CC on short rest if their season were in jeopardy.
Hey, the Rays could lose all their remaining games! It could happen! /adjusts tinfoil cap

Baltimore is a bad baseball team.
That is SCIENCE.
Let's remind them.
Living in Baltimore, I have little choice but to watch the O's. And they aren't so bad anymore. This series will be a challenge for the Sox.

Another day, another destiny.
This never-ending road to victory;
These men who seem to know my heart
Will surely win a second time.
One day more!
One more win!

Did not know that we were only 2nd in days lost due to injury. (I don't know if counting DL days or just any day.) But Oakland is first.

Hey, it worked yesterday. Go for it.
The last two pitches to Lowell were the first swinging strikes of the game, I think.

One would think that 38 pitches would result in more than one run.A very workman-like 38-pitch half inning.
EDIT--38 pitches....an omen?

Looks like they have 9 guys on the 60 day DL, but it's not quite as an impressive group as ours. http://mlb.mlb.com/t...an.jsp?c_id=oakI'm on MASN tonight.
