Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Jays sweep.... Sox sweep.
Monday morning...4 back in the WC loss column with 19 games to play...we fly to Seattle and the Rays fly into the toilet to face the pinstripes.
I have a dream......

From a Western Mass proto Red Sox fan (you're a proto-fan if the object of your fandom doesn't even come into being until you've been dead for fifteen years):
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

I bet you live in Emily Dickinson's neighborhood.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson go on a camping trip, and after finishing their dinner they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend.
"Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." "I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" exclaims Watson. "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson ponders for a minute. "Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. What does it tell you, Holmes?" "Watson, you idiot!" he exclaims, "Somebody's stolen our tent!"

I think I will go to this game tonight.
Give my regards to the Berkeley Hills.
The last time I was in Alameda County Coliseum, Mark McGwire hit a ball off the Budweiser sign over left field and Rob Murphy's Red Sox career finally ground to a halt.

Spoiler
Coco Crisp has the highest SLG% in Oakland's lineup. It would be shameful and disgraceful if they scored that many runs.

On this team right now? Lowrie could already be considered one of the old guys.Is McDonald considered a young guy or an old guy?

I know. That's why, other than Lowell, I'm trying to figure out which is the old guy lineup.On this team right now? Lowrie could already be considered one of the old guys.

What the hell, why not? Let's have some fun with this and see what we got. No pressure anymore; all in, let it ride.I like that tito is putting in the young guys. In the rays series, he used the young guy lineup for the two wins and the old guy one (lowell etc) for the loss. I say keep using the young ones down the stretch.

Not that I know of, yet, it is hard to believe that he has naturally played "out of his mind" this season.

Damn. Can't help but like Crisp, though.
Except that he could barely hit his weight in Boston.

Eh. He is who he is. The fact that he wasn't Johnny Damon was hardly his fault.

Please adjust to Pacific time. And get your head out of your ass.
2-0 A's no outs.

At least that embedded Sox knows his job.
It really hasn't gone too well for Jeremy.
