Papi getting 30 HR this year is akin to a personal accomplishment for me.

I hope Tito plays this line-up (except Lowrie for Hall when possible) the rest of the season. I could definitely watch these guys the rest of the year even if they are out of it.

In the Rays series we swept, when Garza started, Papi had just recently started catching up to fastballs again; it had become clear that busting him inside wasn't working anymore.

I was half paying attention, and I heard Remy say "They're going to bust Papi inside".

I immediately turned to the screen. Just in time to see Papi launch it. It made me supremely happy. Rays were working off an old scouting report. <3

Please win this game.

Mainly bc it gets Wake closer to a graceful retirement.

The excitement of young guys doing good things along with the knowledge that struggling in a small sample doesn't matter. I kinda like it. I'd like the playoffs more but it's hard for young guys to crack a roster like Boston's, so this is a unique opportunity to evaluate some young talent in a relatively stress free situation.

Yeah, exactly how I feel. In the back of my head I know its a little silly to get excited if someone does well but not care at all if someone sucks.

But this is a unique situation to check out some of the guys we've heard about in the pipeline. Even if there is no predictive value, I'd rather see these guys get a chance than Lowell, McDonald, Hall etc.

Really makes you realize how LHH heavy our upper level prospects are though.

Edit: and of course I'd obviously rather see Doubront/Bowden pitch than Wake also

Jaso up. Can somebody tell me what the he'll happened to Dionner Navarro? Three years ago, he was one of the hottest young catchers in baseball. Now, he's virtually out of it.

Wake has pitched long enough to get his bonus, but not well enough to get a win.

At this stage of both his career and the season I would think the bonus would be the goal. Sox win this game they're still going nowhere.

Pray for Ryan Lavarnway's catching ability, because right now he's probably the best hitter in the system.

To be fair, Wake got hosed on the Jaso walk.

It's nice to see the young guys play, but none of them look ready for next year.

I hope you mean best hitting catcher unless he's a really spectacular hitter(not that familiar with him).

One thing the Sox have had trouble producing is hitters. Youk is probalby the best one and he need a year at the MLB level before blossoming(so you can't give the minors as much credit).

Agreed . . . I've heard the same lukewarm things as everyone else unfortunately.

I gotta think Beltre/Werth are the top 2 FA targets though. Beltre makes the most sense of course because 3B is bare . . . but the 2 of them would be great. I get the feeling Theo has a Drew-like crush on Werth and is hoping he gets undervalued by other GMs because he doesn't have monster traditional stats. Of course Drew, Ellsbury, Cameron, Kalish, and Reddick (McDonald/Nava?) is pretty good outfield depth so maybe he wont go there.

Fucking Hall. Punishing me for saying I have no interest in seeing him play.
