Fuck all this negativity. If you have nothing to add but manure, go visit the gardening forum. Fans rooting for failure so the draft picks are better or to force the organization's hand in the off-season can blow me. I, for one, wait too damn long for the season to start to punt on 1/6 of it. As frustrating as the season has been, I will cherish it until it is truly over.

The Sox have one long winning streak in them, starting......NOW.

I believe this is gonna be our finest hour.

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves, that if the Boston Red Sox and its Sons of Sam Horn last for a thousand years, men will still say, This was their finest hour.

I keed, I keed.

But I would like to see a few nights where Tito doesn't insist on installing faulty O-rings into the lineup at SS and 1B. It's gotta be done with fresh parts if it's going to happen at all.

But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game

Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.

Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly the desperate situation facing the 2010 Boston Red Sox - and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever.

I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen

Hey, it can't hurt.

#RedSox vs #Orioles: Scutaro 6, Drew 9, Martinez 2, Ortiz DH, Beltre 5, Lowrie 4, Lowell 3, Nava 7, Kalish 8. Lester.

I just don't get Tito this year. Scutaro can barely throw the ball.

It's bizarre. He had appeared in 128 of 132 games this year after last night's, tied with Beltre for the team lead, which means he isn't even getting the rest that Tito normally builds in for a starter. He threw rainbows across the diamond all weekend in TB, made an important error last night, and I'd bet a dollar he can't even get his arm over his shoulder at this point.

To put it another way:

Pedroia appear in 157 games in 2008, which is most by a Sox player during Tito's tenure. He'd have to give Scooter 3 days off in the next month to match that.

With all the other injuries, it's almost like he's afraid to take another "regular" out of the lineup, and maybe especially the only guy he can think of to bat leadoff.

Lord, I hope that's not his reasoning. Scutaro's OBP since the All Star Break is .296, and it was .273 in August. Not that I'm actually suggesting this, but at this point you could put Gil Velasquez out there and probably get back defensively what little you'd give up offensively.

BALTIMORE — Speaking prior to the Red Sox’ game with the Orioles at Camden Yards Wednesday night, Josh Beckett said that his absence absolutely contributed to where the Sox find themselves in the standings. “Absolutely,” the pitcher said. “All that time I missed, that hurt us.”

Moved into new apartment for grad school Monday, effectively ending my life for the near future. The right wing Jesus freak from Arkansas in my apt. says he is uncomfortable with me having a girl stay overnight. Leigh Bodden out for the year. Delonte's back to play stepfather to everyone on the Celtics. The Red Sox about to go streaking.

September to remember indeed.

The Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East for a reason. Tonight, let's remember why, then remind them of it.

That Lowrie is in the lineup in back-to-back games gives me some encouragement that perhaps his stamina isn't quite as bad as I thuoght it was when they pinch-ran Kalish for him last night.

That Scutaro is our starting SS makes me wonder why on earth we don't put Lowrie at SS, Hall at 2B, Nava at LF, and Kalish at CF. The dude needs to rest up. He is batting .300 over the past 10 games, but if he's costing us critical runs on easily preventable errors, maybe we ought to move back to pitching and defense after all.
