I guess I don't disagree with you. Clearly the most effective tactic to neutralize a deficiency in technical ability is to make the game physical. More than anything else, I'm just disappointed that the Dutch are playing that way. Germany looked uncomfortable in their own skin against the Spanish and lost as a result. The Dutch have the technical ability to stick with Spain, but they chose to go away from that. I can't see the Dutch winning this game if they keep playing this game.

I don't get why they see the need to resort to these tactics. I would have thought that at some point the risk of losing players to reds is greater than the risk of being outplayed technically. Do the Dutch have no confidence that they can hang with the Spanish playing straight-up? Very strange approach if this is the case. I was rooting for the Dutch at the beginning but now this is devolving into an unappealing slugfest that should end on someone choking on a PK after extra time. Kind of like a Super Bowl gone bad.
