i think at this point I just root for Maradona to take off his shirt and start using face paint to make faces on his belly.

So was the look of relief on Ooijer's face when the ref realized his mistake.

On Mike and Mike today, Golic and EriK Kuselias both picked the Netherlands 2-1.

The Dutch can't hope to match Bundchen or Lima.

You have chosen... wisely.

when I think of the awesomeness that is Brazilian women, I don't generally think of skinny broads.
not that those two aren't amazing.

Dutch. And it's really not a discussion.

I don't know a single person who's been to Brazil and not come back feeling a sense of awe for the number of women there with incredible genetics in the looks dept. Myself included. Some are fatter, some are thinner, but the average brazilian is way more beautiful than the average of pretty much anywhere else. Unless that anywhere else is, I dunno, St Barts.
Have you been to Brazil?

Perhaps it was an imposter on the field in South Africa today. We can only hope this one does better than that one, anyway.

I don't think the Dutch can match Lima in the dark and curvy department. But if Bundchen is your Brazilian threshhold for blondes, Yfke Sturm clears her in street shoes.

Also, Van Persie looked like ass. I enjoyed Martin Tyler effectively saying that after his poor play, he probably wouldn't be complaining when he was subbed this time.

It's always good, before a debate goes too far, to determine exactly what it is we're debating. Are we debating whether the average person is better-looking? Whether the elite in the looks department are better looking? Are we debating raw numbers of some definition of "good-looking"? Percentages? Percentages of a particular age group? Are we debating who has better genes? What?
One second someone throws out Giselle Bundchen (who from an ethnogenetic standpoint is German, not Portugese or Brazilian) and the next someone is talking about the average Brazilian woman. Gisele Budchen is not the average Brazilian woman in, really, any sense at all.
So what are we debating?

That's fair. On the one hand, debating top models allows us to post lots of pictures of top models. On the other hand, it'll lend people to talking about how ugly this or that top model is.
I'd prefer to talk averages for the 18-to-35 crowd, but it may not be an interesting or debateable discussion. What really struck me when I was in Brazil - and all the brazilians I've met before and since - was what percentage of brazilian women really had pretty faces and great-looking skin. Some are light-skinned as europeans and some as dark as africans, but the average is a really pleasant, say filipino brown. Most are bootylicious. Their faces are really well-defined and symmetric. I dunno, I don't want to break it down to a silly level, but I saw so few ugly (young-ish) girls and so many "really cute" to "hot damn" ones, that it was striking.
Here's some pictures of the kind of girls I saw in Brazil, none of them models but most of them would stand out in a NY bar.
And lest we forget, she was Brazilian too:

dutch are good looking, like pretty much anyone else. nothing against them. lost my virginity to one, as a matter of fact, so Dutch girls always have a soft spot in my heart.
but Brazilians. yes.
