I don't know a single person who's been to Brazil and not come back feeling a sense of awe for the number of women there with incredible genetics in the looks dept. Myself included. Some are fatter, some are thinner, but the average brazilian is way more beautiful than the average of pretty much anywhere else. Unless that anywhere else is, I dunno, St Barts.

Perhaps it was an imposter on the field in South Africa today. We can only hope this one does better than that one, anyway.

Great win for the Dutch. Brazil looked so strong in the first half, I was expecting a 2 or 3 nothing game. They were a step quicker than the Dutch, who looked like they were constantly chasing after the ball. If Kaka's shot goes in, the Dutch may have been the side imploding. Steklenberg's save as clutch. Epic fail by Brazil in the second half. They were a completely different team after the own goal. Total loss of composure after the second goal (which was beautiful). Robben's best moves during the game were effectively baiting Bastos and Melon. Melon's stomp was an inexcusable loss of composure.

Also, Van Persie looked like ass. I enjoyed Martin Tyler effectively saying that after his poor play, he probably wouldn't be complaining when he was subbed this time.

Dunga has resigned. Wow, barely an hour after the match is over and he's gone. I guess he would have taken too much shit for compromising the style that the Brazilians normally play and still not getting the results.

Are we debating who has better genes? What?

One second someone throws out Giselle Bundchen (who from an ethnogenetic standpoint is German, not Portugese or Brazilian) and the next someone is talking about the average Brazilian woman. Gisele Budchen is not the average Brazilian woman in, really, any sense at all.

So what are we debating?

That's fair. On the one hand, debating top models allows us to post lots of pictures of top models. On the other hand, it'll lend people to talking about how ugly this or that top model is.

I'd prefer to talk averages for the 18-to-35 crowd, but it may not be an interesting or debateable discussion. What really struck me when I was in Brazil - and all the brazilians I've met before and since - was what percentage of brazilian women really had pretty faces and great-looking skin. Some are light-skinned as europeans and some as dark as africans, but the average is a really pleasant, say filipino brown. Most are bootylicious. Their faces are really well-defined and symmetric. I dunno, I don't want to break it down to a silly level, but I saw so few ugly (young-ish) girls and so many "really cute" to "hot damn" ones, that it was striking.
