I didn't get the runner up in 1958. But by the end I was just throwing in any random European or So. American nations I could think of anyway.

That's the only unique name in the whole list. There's a very good hint on who it is though.

The quiz is relatively easy beacuse you only have to name the country once and it places it in all correct spots. So just naming Brazil, germany, and Italy fills up almost half the thing. The trick may be to have to name the finalists each year.

A big difference in that last one, though if you actually know anything about the World Cup (unlike me), it won't throw you.

Germany and West Germany are considered two different answers.

Missed USSR cuz I typed Russia and nothing came up and it didn't dawn on me to try that. Missed Bulgaria, missed Turkey, missed Croatia.

Nearly missed West Germany cuz I forgot about that whole Berlin wall thing til about 45 seconds left.

I was able to get 34/40 with the help of Google (i.e. googling old World Cup shirts and seeing which years, then browsing the squad list - yes, it's cheating I know), but there are too many old names on there for a young'un like myself.

USSR and Poland were the ones that took me the longest.
