7pm start on MLBNet

Very excited to see this kid pitch. Should probably be able to watch most of his outing before flipping to the Celtics at 9p.

I'm heading for the Park in a few minutes! It's going to be nuts!!...or, pretty much like just another night at Fenway.

I'm looking forward to a Pirates@Nationals game. Never thought I'd live to see this day come.

Natstown will be sold out tonight in what is probably the most hyped debut for a starting pitcher in many of our lives. Will he live up to the hype? Will he fall flat on his face? Who gives a fuck? Either way we'll be entertained.

The kid is so good, they've already named four towns, a railroad and a cathedral after him.

Play ball.

Edit: This is copied over from the thread I just started in the MLB section of the site after failing to check here for one.

Wow... fireworks when left the dugout? Really? Way to not add to the pressure with extra fanfare, Nats.

Records his first out with a sharp line drive to short stop. 1 down, 26 to go.

99 mph 2 seamer on the inside corner then a sick curve froze Milledge for strike two, then got him swinging on a change up that just fell off the table.

This kid looked pretty sick in that last at bat. He throws absolute gas, getting that two seamer up to at least 97 multiple times with some incredible tail action. Nice first inning.

Pretty sure he only threw 1 2-seamer, at 96. The others were 4-seamers, I think.

Maybe he turns out to be another Kerry Wood or something, but boy, he's got stuff.

If that's his 4-seamer, it has some disgusting late life on it.

I'd suggest MLB.com as they may be showing it free considering the special nature of the game, but their website appears to have crashed between traffic for this game and the draft.

That much movement on a 98MPH ball is simply not fair.

Did Costas just trot out that old "Nolan Ryan sold tickets" line?

There is a 15-20mph difference between the four seamer and the breaking stuff - that is just insane

If the mlb.tv is site crashed (again), mines working fine, try: http://atdhe.net/

He's making the Pirates look like little leaguers. But yeah, the fireworks is a bit much. Just a bit.

6 K in 10 AB so far. I expected him to be good, but this performance is better than the hype.

Strasburg's charts similar to anyone else (Jimenez), jnai?

One of the great things about baseball: Pudge Rodriguez, 19-year-old, starts his career catching the 44-year-old Nolan Ryan. 19 years later, he's about to close out his career by catching Strasburg. Obviously, no idea what will happen Strasburg from here, but it's a cool moment.
