Hey just to clear up the confusion... and it's because I didn't state any real rules so it's my confusion... but:

A win at this stage is still worth 3 points. The overall winner is the important part. How you choose that winner does not matter. The 1 point that comes from a correct full-time score is secondary, and useful, but secondary.

Hence:

If you choose Paraguay 1 v 0 Japan you still get three points. Because Paraguay won.

If you choose, in the same situation, *Paraguay 0 v 0 Japan you get 4 points. You have still chosen the correct winner as well as the score.

In the same situation, Paraguay 0 v o *Japan is worth 1 point.

In the same, *Paraguary 13 v 13 Japan is worth... 3 points. It's the win.

I only say this because ypioca, you acutually got 6 points. You picked Paraguay to win and you picked Spain to win.

Once again, sorry if that wasn't cleared up earlier but really it's all fun anyway.

- ethangl maintains the two point lead at the top from second, but the field moved up inexorably behind to make a mess of the next 5 or 6.
- I reckon anyone there in the top 8, with the right picks and/or top scorer could sneak their way up to first...
- Tthe people who have a horse left in the top scorer race with David Villa have been italicised, and at least SoxFaninCali is threatening to jump right out to win this thing if he comes through...
- A couple have Xavi or Van Persie who theoretically could each score 37 goals in their respective last two possible games, but I haven't bothered highlighting them...

Looking at the past standings, I think I was somehow shorted four points from the group stage (given 64 points when I think I earned 68).
