Haven't read the by-laws recently, but as this is the steroid lounge, and if this is deemed news worthy, I'll toss it out there.

Some internet Twitter is tossing around that some major NY player failed a PED test in Spring training, appealed, the appeal was just dropped, and now is about to get a 50 game suspension. He says it is The Yankees first baseman.
99.999% this is crapola, but who knows....

So we're supposed to believe this guy:

He not only goes by "Incarcerated Bob", but lists his interests as beating people up and picking winners. Sounds like a... winner.

I would have responded the same way, dude looks like he should be on New Jersey Shore.

Just passing on the scuttlebutt, every now and then even the National Enquirer gets one right.

We're supposed to believe a degenerate gambler who touts himself on the internet?

Not that I don't gamble on sports, but considering the source, this is laughable. Even if it turns out to be true, how would IncarceratedBob be the first to break it?

They are talking bout it on NYYfans, and also the Lahoud site...they are saying also Will Carroll is saying someone, a first time offender,is about to get suspended. If Caroll says it, then it has to be false.

I'd be shocked if Texeira was that stupid, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I just googled Teixeira and steroids and this popped up:

QUOTE
In an era of steroid cynicism and high-priced scrutiny of many in his sport, New York Yankees slugger Mark Teixeira reminds us that there are successful players who care about character. A product of supportive parents, including a mother who battled and survived cancer, and a father who played baseball at the Naval Academy and flew jets in the service, Teixera had strong role models who put him on the right path early on.

Cool, thought this MIGHT have some value, if only for that it is being discussed on the net in many places.

Here is the thread on NYYfans....

Yeah we can almost certainly say it's BS. The guy is just an eveyday New Jersey clown, and everyday clowns don't have any "sources." He says it's coming within 24 hours. If it was that imminent, more reputable people would know it by now. I'll laugh if Nick Stavinhoa or someone gets suspended in about a month and this guy starts saying "told ya so"

Carroll's calling it a "semi-big" name, which to me doesn't indicate Teixeira. Tex is a superstar.

Maybe Granderson?

Granderson is a big name. Nick Johnson is a sem-big name. At least, that's how I would read it.

Regardless it sucks and I hope it turns out to be false.

The follow-up report by Craig Calcaterra here is actually where the "semi-big" adjective came from, not Carroll (he RTed it):

http://hardballtalk....minent.html.php

Neither of those guys say anything about it being a Yankee, as best I can tell.

No indication that it is a Yankee except for that clown. As far as the rumor goes now its a semi-big name in the MLB. That could be a lot of people.

Blacher Report has it as being Tex, but again that's possibly total bullshit based on rumor.

That will help with site exposure.

Mike Jacobs or Murphy? Tough call. Jacobs is semi-big in some circles, right?

If it was Johnson, would he be considered the fattest-faced roider ever? That would be proof that roids do not build muscle unless you use them for that purpose.

Beningno is talking bout this now on FAN, apparently Incarcerated Bob is a caller on the show, and called last night, said the name, but they would not allow the name to be broadcast over FAN as it is rumormongerer.

If it were either Pujols or Jeter or Mo Major League Baseball would be turned upside down. I believe they are the only luminaries of the game left unscathed thus far.
