We've argued about this periodically for the last few seasons, but now that Wingack and I are mods, we're making the below rules official (they've been Dope-approved) and hopefully this will eliminate the bulk of the arguing over the course of the season (about game thread starting etiquette anyway). Also, we reserve the right to make special rules for rembrat. :)

================================================================

If a Boston fan starts the thread and NY loses, they can start the next thread. If a NY fan starts the thread and NY wins, they can start the next thread. Otherwise, there needs to be a new thread starter. However, if it is one hour or less before the game starts and there is no thread started yet, anyone can start a thread.

1) How do you determine who is a Yankee Fan and who is a Red Sox fan? For instance, if Ronan Tynan started a game thread, which would he be?
2) What if a Yankee Fan starts a thread, and Joba blows the game and the Yankees lose and the fan screams "THAT'S IT, I AM *DONE* WITH THIS TEAM, I'M NOW A RED SOX FAN", can that guy start the next thread?
3) Profit.

The two fanbases smell different

If that exact situation plays out, yes.

Other people are welcome to start threads as long as you stick to the above rules, it'd be great if it wasn't always Wingack and me. I started the one that began this streak a few hours before game time because no one else was, I'd already gone 0-2 and wasn't keen on doing it, but we needed a thread.
