I'm logging on my brother's PS3 but the calendar goes only up to 2010. Is there an update we're missing or must we simply wait?

Any help?

I called them, you only get 2010 games til the regular season starts.

This is a free VPN service that gives you a UK ip address.I use it mainly to watch live UK TV streams that are normally geo-blocked because I'm in the U.S. It comes in handy if you have MLB TV and games are blacked out, especially Fox sports Saturday.

http://expatshield.com/

Having trouble working with this. MLB.TV tells me I need to plug in a credit card or something? Possibly they've figured out expatshield is a problem for them?

Don't you have to pay for MLBTV? 19.95 a month or 24.95 depending on what service you want? That's unrelated to using a VPN. I haven't paid yet since I can see the games free until the end of next week.

I just checked. They give you a 120 second live preview of a game then ask you to register by creating a log in or logging in if you have a previous account, then you have to subscribe. I only use a VPN to log in when there are blackout restictions such as Fox Saturday. It does an automatic location check and I don't get blacked out since it appears I'm in the UK. I won't be able to check it out until Saturday.

Edit update: Ok I logged into my account using the VPN, I clicked on Blackout restriction, then clicked on find out what Clubs are blacked out in my area and received this message:

Your location is either not a U.S. location or one that is not subject to home territory blackout restrictions within the U.S. for any MLB Club.

OUTSIDE THE U.S. AND CANADA

No blackout restrictions apply.

FOlks.

If you had to choose between MLB TV and Extra Innings, which one would you prefer? Im trying to make that choice right now.

MLB.tv + At Bat '11 basically makes me useless at work after 4pm Pacific.

Awesome stuff!

I just cancelled MLB EI (sick of Directv BS), so this is great news. Free MLBtv for April if you get the AtBat app.

Glad I'll have a chance to see how this works with my iPad. Hopefully I won't have to go groveling back to DTV.

I very reluctantly cancelled EI - especially since I finally got a DVR. I would certainly rather watch on a 42" HD TV rather than the iPad. Though now I can have the game on while I'm at the office. FWIW, I was paying 6 x 33.99 for EI, and they offered to take 10 bucks a month off not to cancel. Don't know if you can make that kind of deal as a new subscriber.

I've paid my money for the entire year. Sadly, I still get the error messages.

Yep, that's what I get, too. But when I try to log in, the damn thing won't let me see the game. Those fuckers at MLB are apparently getting good at this...

Just because they advertise it, don't actually expect it before the All-Star break.

I did find the option to switch audio channels on the Boxee app. It was very difficult to use but I was able to get the vaunted "ballpark feed."

Has anyone tried splitting an account between people? A... friend... is asking. Does a wall of pain come down if multiple computers are simultaneously logged in to the same account?

What if, say, I want to run it on my laptop in my living room and iPad in my bathroom at the same time?

Once NextDef was installed I was able to watch today's Cubs game with the WGN radio guys, must say I'm impressed at the sync. Not having to deal with the Chicago TV guys is the greatest thing ever. While Keith Moreland is no Ronnie he is leaps and bounds over Brenley.

Considering how crappy MLB.TV with NextGen was a few years ago I was nervous but I'm super happy I took the leap this year and canceled the Extra Innings package on DirecTV.

NextDef slows down my computer and causes stuttering. I'm sad about that; I wanted to use the park sounds option. Oh well; with Hide My Ip, I can watch the Red Sox just fine. It's awesome.

If you are using Hide My IP I assume it is sending your data through a proxy server, which is going to slow down your bandwidth and is probably why your NextGen feed is so choppy.

Has anyone tried using MLB.TV through a PS3 this year? I tried for the first time last night and it skips, sometimes back an entire inning. It's fine on my computer, but the PS3 is really horrific. It's really disappointing.

I did the mlb.com bandwidth test on my PS3 before deciding to go with Extra Innings over MLB.TV, and my PS3 got absolutely horrible download speeds relative to what my laptop would get in the same room. I wonder if this might be some issue with the PS3's wireless system, but I don't use the PS3/Netflix service, so I have nothing to compare the MLB.TV issues to. I would have to run an actual LAN cable to the system to get HD quality, and that's not worth the effort.

I didn't use mine yesterday, but I understand there were widespread problems with people using MLB.TV over their PS3 last night. FWIW, I recall similar problems in the early going last year with the PS3 stream. And it's not a PS3 wireless issue, as I can stream Netflix movies in HD with no problems. They did get it resolved last year and hopefully will again soon.

I had the exact same problem on my Roku last night. Skips, excessive pixellation, stop-start and "loading" messages etc. But when I switched from the NESN feed to the Cleveland feed, the problems were much less evident. Then around 8:30 or so (maybe 9), the NESN feed cleared up and was mostly fine the rest of the way (yeah, I suffered through that dismal game to the end).

My mostly uneducated guess was that the server at Advanced Media that handles the NESN feed, at least the feed for TV-conected devices (e.g. Roku, PS3 etc.) was either overloaded or had some other problem last night. Just watched a bit of the Tampa Bay-Angels game this afternoon and it was fine.

I've watched all four Red Sox games on the Roku, as well parts of quite a few other games since last Thursday, and last night on NESN was the first time I've experienced what I'd consider a major issue.

Haven't done this myself, but saw this thread over at Slickdeals.

MLB.TV Lower prices + New Mobile Phone plan! Just got an email about lower prices on MLB.TV and the introduction of Mobile Phone only plan. Mobile Phone only plan states you can watch MLB.TV on your iPhone, iPod Touch, and select Android smart phones.

Premium is now = $109.99/year ($10 off)
Standard is now = $89.99/year ($10 off)
Mobile Phone = $49.99/year (NEW)

http://mlb.mlb.com/m...94824-200871504

A poster there said this, regarding the $50 plan...

For the mobile mlb tv subscription price of $50/yr I was able to watch on my PC with no problem.

The toggle switch at mlb for mobile and everything else is the information your browser sends. I used Firefox and a referer extension (https://addons.mozil...don/refcontrol/) and I set this extension to mimic my android browser settings on my PC and it connected and streamed fine.

So if you want a full year for $50 and the ability to watch it on your phone or PC definitely check out this extension.

They sometimes took turns. I was stuck at work some times and had to use the MLBTV feed. Latin America usually has good access to all playoff games through the Latin ESPN, or the latin Fox Sports Channel, so I have not had to use my computer that much.

On the MLB.TV App on my phone lets me watch the game, it isn't the TV telecast but you get to choose from the various stadium channels. It didn't cost anything extra. However, if you go to the MLB.com website you have to pay $3.99 or $5.99.

Just got an email from MLB with some good news. The MLB At Bat app will be included in the Premium subscription this year, for both Android and iPhone/Pad/Touch. So that saves $15 right off the top. The second addition doesn't affect me, but I'm sure a bunch of other SoSH-ers will be happy to know that MLB.TV will be available on Xbox 360 this year, provided you have an Xbox Live Gold membership. None of this will cost any extra either, as Premium will be the same price as last year for renewals ($120) and only $5 more if you're a new subscriber.

The best just got better.

Go to: www.hidemyip.com

BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Worked perfectly for me. However, I have a new Samsung BluRay player that I'm using for MLB.tv. I have found another service that should work with it. But if not, I'll just use my laptop and hidemyip for another year.

FWIW, there was no codes or coupons last year either. This year they didn't even have the $100 Premium Christmas special.

I don't need it for Sox games, I watch on TV, but I like to listen to away announcers sometimes. I am going to give torproject.org a shot before any other pay proxy products. People on Reddit seem to say it works.
