This feed is pretty maddening. Anyone else getting the constant 'buffering' pauses?

Svindal silver, Miller bronze. I was hoping for a gold for Svindal. Oh, well. Looking forward to the 500M

Did the Bulgarian really eat shit? The results show him as DNF and there's been a long delay since he started. Two more guys are still waiting to go.

The Swiss are probably the strongest men's team top to bottom. They are a concern in all five events.

Begin rant:

The coverage of the Olympics on NBC is fucking abysmal and pathetic. The men's downhill, the fucking premiere event of the entire Olympics, run only every four years is not only not televised live, but I've been watching their tape delayed coverage of other events this afternoon (west coast time) for over an hour now, and they have not made a single mention of when it will be on. Given that it's already been pushed back, you'd think they'd do us the courtesy of letting us know when we might be able to see it, or if it even went off today. I finally got so fed up I went to look to see if it did go off, only to learn some of the results. Are they even going to show it delayed? Does the fact that it got pushed back mean that they just scrap coverage and stick with the great plan of showing women's cross country (actually it was pretty good)? Instead I get fascinating fucking features about how to wax your snowboard. There's probably better coverage of this shit in Estonia or Slovenia.

Fuck you NBC. I hope you lose a billion dollars on this and never let Costas, Collinsworth, or any of those other clowns near the Olympics again.

By what standard? Figure skating and hockey are usually the #1 and #2 most watched events. Downhill's pretty far down the list.

True, but you do have to understand where he is coming about the NBC, no?

Actually, as far as I know alpine skiing is, globally speaking, the most watched sport at the Winter Olympics.

In the US it probably is figure skating and hockey (and as of today, cross country skiing) as NBC doesn't give you another option wink.gif

Incredible. Again issues with the Zambonis. After ten races, the 500M is delayed for the time being due to excesss water on the ice.

First three so far:
1. (17) Dmitry Lobkov (RUS) 35.13 ( 9.73; )
2. (16) Mike Ireland (CAN) 35.38 ( 9.78; )
3. (3) Nico Ihle (DUI) 35.53 ( 9.88; )

EDIT: postponed until 8PM EST. Apparently not. The Zambonis, which are not Zambonis, will be going on the ice again in a few. What a fuckin joke - these athletes prepare for 3,5 years and then they get hit with this sad excuse of an international meet. Four thumbs down.

Gold for Korea! Wow. Wotherspoon fell short, unfortunately. Shani Davis withdrew. Then again, he was merely warming up for the 1000M
