Im guessing G Howe.

Good guess. Gretzky become a US citizen after he got married so maybe that is why he's out? (I thought I heard earlier that he had not been selected.) Gretzky's daughter was the queen of our Azalea Festival (honoring NATO) and attended a Norfolk Tides game. She was supposed to sing both the US and Canadian anthems and refused to sing the Canadian anthem.

I'm not impressed yet...

You won't be. After Beijing, every future ceremony will pale in comparison. But Canada, especially, just isn't very good at this stuff to begin with. The opening in Calgary was abysmal. Their centerpiece was k.d. lang (whose voice I love when she's not singing that twangy country crap) skipping around the stage in a sheepskin jacket and 10-gallon hat.

I think I'd like to invade and conquer Bermuda and all 15 of their shorts-wearing residents some weekend. Just for the hell of it.

That's probably a better call. This is likely it for Howe's chances to lead a torch into a Winter Olympics in Canada. Plus, he's from a little further west than Wayne if that matters. Can't go wrong with Mr. Hockey.

Morgan Freeman's voice is everywhere. He could come out and admit "I banged my stepdaughter" and no one would care. What's that, he actually did bang is stepdaughter? For a decade?

So...does the US generally get booed when they're introduced, or is that not in the Olympic spirit?

Ha, I hadn't noticed them until you pointed them out! ... They look like they are in pain. ... Are the "native Canadians" still doing their tradiational dances in the center? Or are these guys, half of whom look like they hold down full time corporate jobs during the day, and probably exploited their 1 percent bloodline to get on stage, taking a breather?

These people in white standing at attention along the parade route for three hours are quite amusing. You just know about half of them have to take a wicked killer piss right now.

EDIT - Oh, those are the dancers everyone's talking about. Anyway, my comment about the piss still stands.
