The Angels are required to fuck up epically on the basepaths at least 2 times each ALCS game.

That's a HR in Fenway.

No it isn't, because it's still a number of feet to the right of the pole.

Pesky Pole HRs are extremely cheap, but they're rare.

Buck: "Jeter to his left"

McCarver: "Jeter was cheating in the hole"

One is a beautiful thing to hear. The other, not so much.

The Angels play the game the right way.

I didn't think I'd be able to post that one in the second inning, but there you go.

Jeter should have turned around and run towards third base, then jumped in the air...then he would have been out!

And they're all hit by right-handers, who get that weird angle to the pole.

Um, not really. Righties can slice it around the pole, but when a lefty pulls it, it hooks in the same direction as a righty hitting it to the opposite field.

Probably as embarrassed as he was hitting HRs down the RF line at Fenway. Or cheap doubles and singles off the monster.

In other words, I really doubt it smile.gif

Doubles off the monster (a lot of which would be a HR) is one thing. As is the very, very rare ball wrapped around Pesky's pole- five feet from the pole in play and its an out. A sad pop-up halfway down the wall to the power alley going out is entirely different.

For that matter, show me his CAREER postseason numbers, this isn't the first time he's come up incredibly small in the playoffs.

Watching Pettitte out there reminds me of Game 6 in 2003....where we were staring down the barrel of Burkett vs. Pettitte (in his prime) to avoid elimination and we made it out alive. One of the all-time reverse lock wins; only to be wasted a night later.

Sure, but we were talking about a ball Damon hit into the corner just foul. I mean, c'mon, at least wait until until someone hits one into that RF power alley. It'll probably happen sometime tonight. Don't be so impatient.

edit: spelling

I don't have the stats in front of me or anything, but I have personally seen more from right-handers. Nick Green's walkoff and a Jason Bay chipshot this season spring to mind...

That was the last time NY won a postseason series against anyone but the Twins (those should be their own category).
