No it isn't, because it's still a number of feet to the right of the pole.
Pesky Pole HRs are extremely cheap, but they're rare.

McCarver: "Jeter was cheating in the hole"
One is a beautiful thing to hear. The other, not so much.

I didn't think I'd be able to post that one in the second inning, but there you go.

And they're all hit by right-handers, who get that weird angle to the pole.

Um, not really. Righties can slice it around the pole, but when a lefty pulls it, it hooks in the same direction as a righty hitting it to the opposite field.

In other words, I really doubt it
Doubles off the monster (a lot of which would be a HR) is one thing. As is the very, very rare ball wrapped around Pesky's pole- five feet from the pole in play and its an out. A sad pop-up halfway down the wall to the power alley going out is entirely different.

Do not mock the MVanP.

Papelbon is stupider

Haha, yeah. Show me his 2009 postseason numbers.
For that matter, show me his CAREER postseason numbers, this isn't the first time he's come up incredibly small in the playoffs.

Because a stretch of 39 PA's shows how good he actually is?

Sure, but we were talking about a ball Damon hit into the corner just foul. I mean, c'mon, at least wait until until someone hits one into that RF power alley. It'll probably happen sometime tonight. Don't be so impatient.

I don't have the stats in front of me or anything, but I have personally seen more from right-handers. Nick Green's walkoff and a Jason Bay chipshot this season spring to mind...

I'm wondering what type of display he put on. Fashion show? Tupperware?

If Saunders gives him a reason to swing...

Well I was talking more in generally about Damon in the bidet, not just about the foul ball.

That was the last time NY won a postseason series against anyone but the Twins (those should be their own category).
