Doc Zero needs to start the gamethread! How soon do we forget when the team was 2-6, just came off a long extra innings loss, had no bullpen, and was forced to rely on Tim Wakefield to right the ship. You know what happened? Doc Zero started the game thread, Wakefield pitched an absolute gem, and the Sox turned around and won 11 straight. I think winning 11 straight would only lead to winning it all this time around. Doc Zero needs to start for us in game 2 and turn around the season yet again.

Make it so.

Where is Doc Zero? For 12 glorious days this season, 11 glorious victories, what a coincidence!, the only gamethread starter names you saw were Doc Zero and my stupid ass in the sandbox. Dr. 0, we need you!

Sure, some guy who has never started a game thread in his life has started this massively important game thread. But I care not for who starts a game thread, who ends a game thread, and who posts in the creamy nougat center of a game thread. All I care for is Red Sox wins.

I shall yield to Doctor Zero, if the masses decree as such. All I want is a creamy nougat center of glorious victory.

That's why I said turn around the season and not save the season smile.gif . I do not forget the deficts in 99, 03, 04, 07, or 08, but I wouldn't mind going about it without dropping games to these whiny, overly celebratory douchebags known as the Angels.

Tomorrow's going to be a tough game for the Sox. Most people think the Red Sox have the edge with Beckett, but a closer look at the numbers really evens things out. I don't necessarily disagree with the premise, but isn't this just a list of AL starters based on ERA by month? Not very telling, if you ask me, especially considering some of the shit luck Beckett had this spring.

Beckett has won his teams 2 world series championships with his utter dominance. This is his first start of a post-season after a few bumps in the road towards the end of the year. He has an opportunity to renew his dominance tonight, and fuel us to another championship:

Win. Just because.

Save Doc zero for when/if they're facing elimination. That "Tim Wakefield goes 2/3+ of the way through a no-no" type magic needs to be broken out at the exact right time. I don't think it's panic time yet.

I was at a wedding last October and while we were unable to get them to bring in a tv to the reception, there was a guy with an iPhone who kept giving updates and the DJ let him use the mic, until finally for the last hour or so we completely derailed the party and got the WRKO feed put on the radio. Best wedding ever. Unfortunately, the groom was a Cardinals fan.

Congratulations, and good luck.

My wife and I got married (in Connecticut, coincidentally) on the night of game 2 of the 2007 ALCS (Schilling started). The DJ kept us updated throughout the reception.

My wife didn't find out about the small tv hidden off to the side of the dance floor until the next day. We lost that game, but obviously it all worked out. I hope your wedding mojo works!

That could be dangerous. Assign this task to one of your ushers. If you don't have a friend capable of providing you with constant pertinent updates, you did a shitty job picking your wedding party.

If the Red Sox are eliminated during your wedding your marriage is doomed. I suggest that this scenario does not happen.

The douchebag Angel fans sitting behind me last night kept saying "This series is over! Sweep time!" when there were two outs in the top of the ninth inning. They were also talking about who they would be playing in the World Series.

As I left Disney Stadium last night, fans kept yelling "Go Home Boston!" They had a look of glee on their faces. Then I said, "At least you won't get swept this year." They had nothing. Their faces turned sullen like when Jason Bay hit the homerun in Game 1 last year..

I hate people from the OC; fucking frontrunners.

I took a ridiculous amount of crap at last night's game. I might have actually been frightened if I had been in Oakland. The Angels fans acted like they have never won a friggin playoff game in their lives. You know you're in trouble when you win Game 1 at home and you're acting like you just won the Series. Ditto to Tori Hunter in the paper today. It's one game gentlemen.

Playoff Beckett will deliver tonight and silence the OC idiots. WIN.

Gotta agree with you about Oaktown too. I saw a game there a couple years back when the A's took the third of a 4 game series. I thought the guy behind me saying "Boston hat wearing asshole" might stab me.
