I know Glee is apparently on or something, but no one else is watching, y'know, playoff baseball?

I just got home from work, and I'll be watching from now on!

I am watching, but I am apathetic about the outcome. I may be channeling J.D. Drew.

The Cardinals had an awful squander in the first, particularly with Holliday getting caught looking at a pitch that was entirely too close to argue about. They're going to pitch around Pujols every time if the price to pay is 5 pitches to Matt Holliday, taking all the way.

See this is the only nonSox divisional game I want to watch, since both teams are actually good at baseball. Unlike the Rockies and Twins.

So far it's been a much more fun game to watch, compared to the MFY/Twins game.

6 left in 3 innings. This is like watching the Sox.

Oh, no doubt about it. Should be the best baseball of the day. I just don't really have a rooting interest in either team. I am pulling for the Rockies because I would love to see the Phillies eliminated early and obviously I want the Twinkies to pull off the massive upset. I guess having a Dodgers/Sox series would be pretty entertaining.

the optimum entertainment value IMO, as a baseball fan, would be a Phillies/Dodgers NLCS, Sox/MFY ALCS, and a Sox/Phils WS.

I'd rather see the Sox face the Twinkies, obviously, but the Sox/Phils WS is ideal for me since I live in Philly.

Well sure if you want to see good baseball, 6-7 game series, etc. If the Sox won out in your scenario it definitely would make for a memorable post-season. I have a hard time rooting for tougher opponents though. There is a lot to be said for relatively low-stress series like the 2007 WS...

Derosa's throw went stratospheric in record time. Power hitters yearn for that kind of backspin.

Looked like he never got his feet under him....came up to throw but was still on his back foot. Brenly was right, too, in that he would have had Ethier by a mile if he had gone home.

Really that was the worse throw I've ever seen, I think. TBS announcers are right too, he could have had Ethier at home, easily.

So with a good throw, he has Manny at 2nd.

With a heads up play, he has Ethier at home.

Instead, he throws in into RF and it's a base hit. Official scorers are stooopid.

Oh, and Carpenter picked a really bad time to forget how good he is.

Yeah. Should be failed fielder's choice and an Error.

I can't get over how bad a throw that was. Geez.

Anyone know if Sager was at this game or the Yankees? I'm curious what color he's wearing today.

If you don't trust your game 1 starter to try and get out of that jam, how the hell will you go all the way and win the world series with your starting pitching?

It wasn't an error becuase it was "beyond ordinary effort". Once he dove, that made (theoretically) impossible to get an E.

I hate the NL. I wanna beat the Dodgers, Torre and Manny in the WS. But I can't root for them now either. Not that I like StL...mainly because of '46 and '67. Nor is LaRussa lovable.

Bah. I pretty much hate all teams except the Sox.

It seems pretty clear that this is going to happen this year. I can't see how the Rockies or Twins make it more than 4 games this year and the rest of the field is solid. Cards/Phillies/Dodgers would all have a decent shot against any of the AL contenders.
