I think the Yanks have only an hour to decide once the Central is decided. So, yeah, it may be after midnight.

That's from the 2007 post season, I think. Was that the WS game 1 lead off home run he hit?

I thought it was game 7 against CLE. Looks like Victor behind the plate.

I thought that was from the Indians series, looks like Vmart behind him.

Yeah, I think you're right. He was fantastic that post season...

I'm not sure when it dates from -- it's been floating around the game threads for a while now (certainly longer than Frau Blücher). I'm never one to steer away from a cliché.

It's not an actual PA(see the foot in lower left).
Somebody did a nice job with it though.

Get that man a gold glove! He's about as deserving as Raphael Palmeiro was in 1999...

It's not worth checking, but with the three position pitchers, Youk in Left, and probably some other stuff....it seems like Tito has done the "stick players somewhere random they arn't usually" much more often this year.

Yeah, but can he pitch? Tito likes his catchers multi-functional. It looks like Kottaras might have a natural sinker. With Brown's knuckler, there are some different looks possible.

Out of proportion with his RBI total.

Could this be one of those "minor league balls are different" things?
Seems like an incredibly stupid policy though. Could the sox just give their players major league balls? I can't imagine the cost difference would be that much, and being able to evaluate your players better would probalby make up for it.

Screw them, if they had any business in this thing they'd have shut down the Twinkies last week. As it stands now, they're going to screw up our preparations, and go into NY completely toasted.
Of course, screw the Twins, too.

Sounds like a good diagnosis. Me, I worry about every Red Sox pitcher. I think we are seeing the league start to catch up with Buchholz's changeup, so he needs to have at least two of his pitches working to be effective, and he lost command of his best two pitches today at the same time.

I'd say it's time for Tito to go with DustyPetra (recently added to the major-league roster).

Yeah, any way you look at it, the Tigers just handed the Yankees the ALDS. 5-5 in their last 10 when all they needed was one more win in there to put it away. It doesn't matter if the Tigers or Twins end up winning... the best chance we had of seeing the Yankees get ousted in the ALDS was to have Detroit lining up their starters for the series nice and rested. They'll be lucky to get more than a start each from Verlander and Jackson. And neither will be on normal rest.
Oh well... if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. So take care of business in Los Angeles and we'll have to handle the Yankees after that.

Eh. Odds of Detroit beating the MFY, even under the best conditions was, what, like 20%? Maybe half that for the twins?
The Sox getting the WC pretty much meant the Yanks were going to the ALCS.
