It could happen.
(1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
(2) He is not the winning pitcher; and
(3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
- (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
- (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; or
- © He pitches effectively for at least three innings.
Depends how generous the official scorer is with "effectivly". And if he finishes the game.

That's where Brown pissed himself. Luckily, the shame inspired him to hit a tater.

Will never happen. I'd be in favor of it. But it won't happen.

Wouldn't hurt but there's no way, barring injury, Tek would ever be left off the post season roster.

Hittin .250 in San Fran with a .635 OPS.
I imagine his defense has declined similarly.

Didn't you hear? This team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs...they are a disgrace. They can't hit and their pitching is mediocre.

If all our games were against the Orioles and Indians we might have won 150. And if we did not lose 9 of 10 against the MFY in the 2nd half we might have won the friggin division. The thing is, the Red Sox simply didn't care to win 97-98 games, they are content with the WC.

Halama is pitching in the Atlantic League playoffs for Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He went 8-1 with a 1.96 ERA sandwiched around a stint in AAA ball for Atlanta. (Butch Hobson is the manager. In the bullpen is Joe Gannon, who learned the knuckleball when he was the bullpen catcher for the Buffalo Bisons.)
