So, any word on how many pitches Dice K is allowed to throw?

Baldelli + Ellsbury = nice range. Though it looked like Rocco could have avoided the slide if he'd seen it a little better off the bat.

Farrell talks about Matsuzaka's "Houdini act" with the bases loaded. He doesn't know how DiceK does it either.

DiceK is getting occasional crazy movement on his 2- and 4-seamers.

I suspect there is some kind of camouflaged trap door halfway down the third base line that leads to a patented "shuto chute". Runners attempting to advance to home are "redirected" through this hidden contraption, down the chute and into the waiting room of a small midwestern medical practice.

How exactly they clean their minds and return them for defensive play, or the details of the crowd hallucination have not revealed themselves to me at this time.

DiceK looking good after the 20+ pitch first inning. 44 pitches through 3. Color me shocked that he can be described as "efficient".

So does this mean we're going to see Varitek catching for Dice-K in the playoffs since Martinez has no experience with him?

Tek's swing is so fucked up... I just rewatched that double from the side angle in slo-mo. His weight is transferred almost entirely to his front foot before his bat has entered the 'hit zone'... it's like his bat is dragging behind every other motion in his swing.

Overpaid Ellsbury. Should be trying to drive those runners in instead of letting the neck-high fastball go by and selfishly loading the bases.

There is no good reason to attempt that steal there. There is one out, and he scores on a single anyway.

If he gets to third he scores on a sac fly.

Thanks, my guess too. I was hoping for a Buchholz tune up, but not very likely. Anyway, I am taking my 6 yo daughter to her first game ever and my wife (both 1st Fenway experiences) so this is more about the spectacle of Fenway and the Sox than actual baseball.
