Well where exactly are you thinking the Red Sox can get this amazing shortstop during a period in the game where the position is incredibly weak? They supposed to make him out of play-doh?

Could Boston handle twice the Drew? I could.

I know next to nothing about the guy honestly. How is he?

Tek couldn't throw a Play-doh SS out, either.

He doesn't strike me as the sort of guy you'd give much up for, particularly since they went out and signed Iglesias.

Can he start against left handed pitchers?

I'd be willing to give up a premium piece for him. Not Bard or Reddick, but any of the other prospects. And it could happen- like I said the Mets might be stupid enough to give up a well above average shortstop. The injury is a risk, but it'd be a risk I'd be willing to take.
Bad year at the plate or not, if the Phillies give up on Jimmy Rollins then that would be absolutely the most insane move since the Reds traded Frank Robinson. I would happily give up half the franchise for this guy locked up for four years or more. I will go on the record and say that if the Sox somehow get Jimmy Rollins, no matter what the cost, then I will shave my testicles with a dull razor.
Agreed. Although I still maintain that Scutaro will be overpriced and I'd rather pass on that and just keep Gonzo this time around.

why?
Does it matter if they clinch tomorrow or clinch on Monday? No, it doesn't.
The MFY were set to hang on to the AL East last Monday when the Sox lost to KC and the Yankees beat LAA. That was it.
So let them clinch. Who cares when it happens? It's been a likelihood for weeks and a definite since Monday.

I guess I just meant that watching the MFYs celebrate at our expense would suck to watch. I never had delusions that the Sox could eke out the division.
On another note, the Rangers are thrashing the Rays again so it looks like the Sox will have to wait until at least Monday to celebrate.

Mainly....it would be nice to actually make progress toward clinching rather than risk getting into a Mets situation.

It matters because in a just, God-fearing world they would all be put to death in gas chambers like the subhuman scum that they are. That the asinine commie-pinko laws we have in this country prohibit such a merciful mass extermination is imposition enough, without that we should have to watch this conclave of Neanderthal retards jump up and down, shouting and rubbing up against each other in conveniently white uniforms while Tim McCarver drools all over himself.
