What's important is it put today's thread back on top.

Yeah...it's horseshit, actually. I saw this game on the schedule and wondered why the Sox were playing a night game before going halfway across the country for what might have been their biggest road series of the season.
Whatever, pound this spot starter (like they did two years ago when he was with the Braves, according to mlb.com), and get the road record back to .500.

Pipe down, son. Be thankful you are still in a position to regularly bang college chicks.
A win today would be nice since that and online campus porn is all I have going for me right now.

In all fairness, if he is posting on a red sox discussion board, he is probably not banging any college chicks.

Wow, the most damaging AB was in the first inning, when LUGO homered off this guy. Shame.

That's not even the most shocking event from that game: Dice K went 8 innings.

Because they certainly can't hit it or pitch it.

I remember that game well. It was exciting thinking that we might see that kind of performance out of Dice more than once every 3 years or so.

Interestingly, Lerew's outing was better than his successors, giving up 3 ER over 2 innings, whereas Mark Redman and Paranto each gave up 4 ER over 1.1 innings when they were brought in after Lerew.

Jailed fan gets conjugal visit with Red Sox in Kansas City
"These ball games are among the few pleasures the defendant has in life. He had been looking forward eagerly to attending this game with his family," King said in court documents.

Why bother? Give everyone as much rest as possible from here on out.
Besides, Boston shouldn't need Youkilis tonight. It's not like they're going up against Greinke again.

I agree. Next up for a rest should be Pedroia and Ellsbury.

Sorry. I guess a poor choice of words can make some people upset. Sox fans are a superstitous bunch. Surely you know this. Why wake the dead? Let the baseball Gods sleep. Deeply. Right along side of the Bambino.

Agreed. Maybe in my next life, I'll be able to rest before the last out of the world series is made in the Sox' favor, or we get a walkoff to win it all, but not in this one.

Drew is no surprise, he gets rested all season. Youk you have to wonder about injury though, he has not looked right since coming back after missing 3 due to his back. That said, Youk has missed a ton of games this year for him. No problem resting guys against teams like the KCR, especially if they are banged up like Youk probably is. The red Sox never divulge injuries if they think it gives them an advantage.
The Red Sox only have 3 players on pace to start 150 games. Bay, Pedroia and Ellsbury. Pedroia has already missed more games than all of last year. Tito rests guys during the season so they will be ready for September/October.
Anyways, may Clay continue his dominance against bad teams. KCR has not done much damage with the bats except for the MDC/Bard gift and the lucky Byrd 1st, and only scored 2 runs in the last 16 innings. This should keep the Red Sox in position to get within 2 games in the all important loss column with a sweep in the toilet.
The division may be low probability thanks to losing the 1st game of this series and the MFY beating the Angels 2 of 3, but winners never quit until eliminated, and having the MFY clinch the division in the toilet with the Red Sox in town should not be acceptable to any Red Sox fan, even for those who do not care about the division. Baseball is not football, most other athletes laugh when you talk about resting baseball players, they sweat more in practice.
