I'll match it. I'm from KC so the shit-talking alone is worth $50.

You actually get shit from Royals fans? Do you tell them how stupid they are or do you just die lauging?

Thats the end of that then. Not that I had much hope for the Division, but thats the end of that. Rest guys and get them ready for the playoffs.

Yeah it gets squelched pretty quick. I was raised a Royals fan and was a kid during the 1975-1985 Royals dynasty; I have a soft spot for them. Those were some amazing teams that the baseball world has completely forgotten.

The 1976-1978 ALCS' against NYY were fucking EPIC.

Does anybody where to find the Red Sox all time record at Kaufman Stadium? It seems they have always struggled there.

Dating back to and including the year 2000, the Red Sox are 16-14 against the Royals in KC.

If you consider what the Royals have been like over that time, the result is pretty terrible. Hope they can get a split at least.

Last Royal to win at least 15 games in a season was none other than Paul Byrd.

All time Red Sox record against KC Royals (through 2006)

Games: 394
Overall Record:192-202
Home: 107-90
Away: 85-112

(I assume this includes the four years playing in KC Municipal Stadium)

Help from the A's, again. 9 - 1 loss for the Rangers in Oakland. Magic # = 6.

Rangers lost last night. With 12 games to go, Sox are ahead by 7. Even if the Sox go 4-8 the rest of the way, the Rangers would then need to go 11-1. Not gonna happen. But, conversely, the Sox are 6 behind the Yankees. Even if the Sox gain 1 1/2 games today and tomorrow, they'll still be 4 back in the loss column heading into the weekend against NY. And the pitching matchups look like this:

Friday: Lester v. Sabathia
Saturday: Matsuzaka v. Chamberlain
Sunday: Byrd v. Pettitte

Those matchups don't scream "Sox sweep" to me.

Face it. It doesn't mean I'm a lily-livered pseudo-Sox fan to say FORGET THE DIVISION - win the playoffs as the AL wild card.

I don't disagree at all. Plenty of historical precedent for the wild card team getting to, and winning, the World Series. Get Bard straightened out, line up the rotation of Beckett-Lester-Buchholz-Matsuzaka with plenty of rest, make sure Tito fills out the *correct* lineup card, and I like this team's chances against anybody.
