Weather Update.

The heavy rain ended at about 1 central time.

At 5:00pm It is only raining lightly and intermittently.

We have bands of thunderstorms coming in from the west.

My guess is they start on time and we will be looking at least one delay.

I hope that this is just a case of Tito starting to give days off to players and choosing to rest Drew because there's a lefty on the mound, and not that Tito thinks that drew has to sit against Lenny Fucking Dinardo.

This can be caused by a herniated disc or by a bulging disc, the latter generally less serious and responsive to rest.
If he has a herniated disc, depending upon the extent of the nerve impingement, he could be done. It's unusual, although certainly not
unprecedented, to not have experienced any pain and be limited to motor weakness. Then again, Green always seemed a little different.
Then again, I wonder if Heidi is responsible for this? (the motor weakness). Just sayin.

Di Nardo appears to have reverse splits, which explains Ortiz but not Drew. A case of getting used to minor league pitching.

The Royals are great in September, when they're 30 games under .500, giving Royals fans like me false hope for next season while blowing their chances at players like Strasburg and Harper. Take last year, they were something like 18-8. End of 2006, they sweep the Tigers to finish the season while the Rays get swept, so they get David Price. It goes on and on.

That said, let's go, Royals! Win.

Look-at-the-quality-of-opposition. The AL central is close to NL central quality. CWS have been in free fall, Indians already hit bottom, Tigers are choking away the division. KCR might look good against fellow crappy-mediocre teams once in awhile, especially w/ Greinke on the mound, with Dinardo, not so much.

Greinke has yet to face either the Red Sox or Yankees, so lets see how he does against the Red Sox.

Sweet. As much I am pulling for Remy, this year really had a silver lining in the booth with the emergence of Eck as very refreshing color guy. I'm hoping they find a way to incorporate him some next year. As long as all those guys on the NESN payroll anyway, they might as well give Eck a bit of raise and have him do some games next year...I know others have said this, and I'm all for it...they should think about doing a 3 man booth, at least some of the time.

Or at least test it out. Not sure if Eck and Remy would blend well, but they very could.

Well he wasn't until Sept 9 called up from Omaha. Meche is done for the year and so is another one of their five. They are currently getting ready to call up some one from AA or AAA for Thursday. They literally don't have anyone to make the start.

While the point isn't without merit, at this point I think you've pretty much tossed Baltimore, Toronto, Tampa Bay and the entire AL Central out as worthy competition. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that Seattle and Oakland fit your description of non-quality opponents, so that would mean unless you're playing the Red Sox, Yankees, Angels or Rangers... your results should be taken with a grain of salt. Is that an accurate summary of your opinion?
