I chose my username in honor of the wastes of roster space that were Lenny Dinardo and Adam Stern. It would be fitting if Lenny could return the honor by living down to the name.

Still, when I need to take a very fast shower, it is fun to call it an "Adam Stern". You know, not a thorough washing, just a quick skrub.

Edit:

Oh, and magic number 7? 7? 7 Wins?

7 wins with 9 bats! Oh ah ah oh!

Don't forget the domestic beer.

Lenny DiNardo, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
Shell beat you if she's able
You know the queen of heats is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Lenny DiNardo, oh, you ain't gettin' no youger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're loosin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Lenny DiNardo, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before its too late

I will be at the Thursday Game.

Kansas City is Playing their best Ball of the year. 8-2 in the last ten and are the ones that put Detroit in a tailspin.
Given that they are still the Royals.

As to weather it is looking pretty tough for today.

We are expecting one to two inches of rain by noon.

Light Rain untill about 5

Than a period of Thinderstorm s till about 8 70% chance.

Chances go to 50% starting at 9

Stupid Fact: in Spain, one of the meanings of "Nardo" is... er... penis. "Di" is italian for "of". So "of the cock" could be a (stupid) translation.

Some breaking Kevin Youkilis News:

QUOTE
TAMPA, FL—Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis reportedly prevented everyone on the team bus from sleeping Monday when he loudly described in disgusting detail the elasticity and mucus secretions of his girlfriend's vagina. "Man, she was pretty hot and bothered, because I'd been stirring up her soup for a while," said Youkilis, adding that her neatly trimmed pubic hair and thighs, as well as their sheets, were all soaked in "pussy juice." "She's a squirter, so her vag was pretty much a fountain by the time I started fisting. She was so slick, I had to put on a batting glove to get some traction." Pitcher Clay Buchholz said he has not slept since last Wednesday, when Youkilis went on about the "foul smell of dried semen that collects in your belly button."

KC people - how's the weather look? Still bad? If tonight's game is rained out, I wonder if there exists a scenario in which we could skip Byrd... obviously still unlikely, but if we were to catch the Yankees, we would probably have to sweep KC, and a Greinke/Byrd matchup on the road sucks pretty bad...

A little bit of the chicken and the egg but I wonder if Drew is having such a nice season and particularly a strong finish because of the regularly scheduled rest vs. LHP

I dont have a problem with Baldelli in there tonight

Drew now has to sit against any lefty?

I hope that this is just a case of Tito starting to give days off to players and choosing to rest Drew because there's a lefty on the mound, and not that Tito thinks that drew has to sit against Lenny Fucking Dinardo.

Agreed. I hope Tito doesn't keep up with the lefty/righty thing with Drew in the playoffs. And I wouldn't be happy to see Baldelli's name in there if the WC lead was two or three. But given where things stand and how well things have worked with Drew in the second half, this makes perfect sense.

On a tangential note, I just learned that JD Drew has another brother named Tim who was drafted in the first round of the 1997 draft by the Braves. You're doing pretty well for yourself as parents if you have 3 kids drafted in the first round of the MLB draft.

Tazawa to 60-day DL. That's the Woodward spot on the 40-man. Tazawa tweaked a groin in Chicago and was close to his innings limit. #redsox

Doesn't much matter I suppose since he was close to his innings limit, but Tazawa gone takes away one pitcher who could eat up innings until the playoffs.

Does she mean a possible herniated disk for Green? If so, yikes.
