Have them stand in front of one another and hope the bullet passes through the first guy and into the second

Ok, but you still have the dilemma of who you put in the front over the other.

If this were true, it is kind of funny that it is national "Talk like a pirate day"
If he was wearing an eye patch how funny would it be to see video of Drew walking around the clubhouse saying pirate phrases with the eyepatch on?

Easily MDC. Tek at least has a ton of knowledge on opposing hitters that has value to the team.

If he's wearing an eye patch it's far more likely that it's a joke because of international talk like a pirate day than it is that he actually hurt his eye. If it's an actual injury, the irony would be off the charts.

JD Drew is hitting 383 with 14 RBI in 13 games against the Orioles, and he is 1 away from his career high in RBI's with the Red Sox (64).
More importantly, if the MFY lose tonight we will be only 4 back in the loss column.

It's actually pretty amazing how few RBI Drew has throughout his career.

It is. This year 1/3rd of his RBI are him knocking himself in with a homer. For someone who isn't a big power hitter, that seems weird.

In the first 44 games Delcarmen appeared in this season, he didn't allow a home run. In his last 15 games, however, he's given up four. He now has a 13.50 ERA in September. Pitching coach John Farrell said Delcarmen is dealing with an "ongoing maintenance item in his delivery" and he hasn't reached the point where he's been able to consistently identify a way to stop flying open when he pitches.
"Ideally, the ability to make an adjustment in one pitch [is] the goal," Farrell said. "When you see it leak into two, three, four hitters, it's a little more of a stark reality.
"He's just in a little bit of a stretch here where it hasn't happened as readily."
Delcarmen said some nights he's able to keep the ball down, others he is not, and this is the first time in the big leagues he can recall when he's had to find mechanical adjustments for a stretch of time.
"It's frustrating but I know Farrell and Tito are trying to get me to be where I need to be," he said. "They're gonna keep throwing me out there to try and get some work in and hopefully it turns out better than tonight."

There are actually crappy teams in other divisions, too. Shockingly, the AL East is not alone in this regard.

Heck, the central division has 5 of 'em. Think how lucky they are.

His OBI% (from BP stats section) of 13.4% is 67th among 94 hitters in the AL with 400 or more PA. His 3 yr average is 13.5% . Tek (12.5%) and Ellsbury (12.8%) are the only regulars lower for 2009.
You are exactly right, the entire AL central, and the NL is AAAA. In fact, excluding them too, we are 31-36 against everyone else. And none of them are going be a team we face in the playoffs until the World Series.
At least football fans factor in the quality of opposition. Why is this fact ignored here?.
Not that it means much for the playoffs. In the playoffs the hottest team tends to win, not necessarily the best team, and the Red Sox are getting hot at the right time.
