If Jerry Springer's security guard endorses it, you know it's good!

I just have the strongest desire to post in last night's thread to see if it makes a difference. I'm fighting it for now.

Also, there was a fair amount of Tek bashing going on so I thought I'd bring in a reasonable suggestion to calm everyone down. 2 rings, 4 no hitters, selected team captain by OUR team. Any true Red Sox fan would not just throw him into the garbage heap. That'd be like slapping your mother for not giving you lunch money.

Captain in baseball means pretty much nothing, the no hitters are pitching accomplishments, and the 2 rings were from when he was good.

Greg Maddux and Randy Johnson won a bunch of Cy Youngs too. We should definitely bring them on next year.

2 rings

That happened in somethign we call 'the past.' Things, like Jason Varitek's ability to play baseball, often change from 'the past' to 'the present.' In 'the present' Jason Varitek sucks at baseball and costs us games. You know who else has a Ring? David Eckstein. He sucks too

QUOTE (Fast_Rider @ Sep 18 2009, 06:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
4 no hitters

There's lots of room for debate on how much of that is attributable to 'Tek versus luck and, y'know, the guys actually PITCHING. Hint: It's almost entirely the Pitching. Plus, Jason's old and can't play baseball.

QUOTE (Fast_Rider @ Sep 18 2009, 06:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

And this is just plain insulting. You are actually using such a bullshit statement on SOSH? That people aren't "true fans" because they disagree with you? Way to go. You'll never escape the Sandbox that way.

S'queeze me? Are you taking away my "true fan certificate"? Bashing 'Tek has nothing to do with whether you're a true
fan or not. An educated person can also see the great contribution that 'Tek has made to this franchise but also still draw
the obvious conclusion that as of right now he sucks and he's hurting the team. This fact doesn't denigrate anything he
has done before. It's just that right now, he sucks. Bad. Bad, bad, bad!

Clay + Victor + Youk = win...let's sweep this series and go 6-1 on the trip. Grienke is the one and only person that should stand in the way of a sweep on this road trip.

It does that sometimes. Early on in a few games I've had some whacky stuff happen. I once had some sports talk show from Arizona. It usually corrects after a few minutes.

With the bullpen set and the rotation finally coming around, the offense on the road has to be the biggest concern going into the postseason, right?

I like this defensive infield behind a groundball pitcher like Buchholz: not the greatest range, but better than with Lowell and still very sure-handed.

I mean, for the love of Christ, I paid a sniper to be in the stadium tonight and how the hell is he supposed to get a clean shot if Tek is in the dugout?

He waits till Tek is near Green. That way, whatever happens, somebody's happy and Heidi's life gets simpler.
