It's a low-grade save for Papelbon's portfolio, but it's still dirty water.

Paps seems to need to make it dangerous.
I hate that.

Of course he was not himself because he was throwing to an unknown catcher c070.gif

God, I can't get that picture Hoser Awfulman posted out of my head.

Reminds me of my high school wrestling days.

I don't throw this around lightly, unless I know it will get me laid.

I love you.

GameDay must be broken. It's crediting Lowell with a stolen base in this game. That can't be true.

I think so. Not including him would require carrying two of Byrd, Wakefield, Tazawa, Bowden and Dice-K. I think if the potential ALDS series calls for a #4 starter, then two of the aforementioned pitchers may need to be included since one of them needs to start the game and a long reliever is needed in case the starter gets knocked out early. Even then, Tito may prefer using Ramirez, Delcarmen and Saito to piece it together. We'll see.

I must be.

Uhhh... good win tonight, but then, anything less than a sweep would have been disappointing.

Hmmm, good ol' Paps...
QUOTE
Jonathan Papelbon revealed to the media Thursday that he has been fined seven times this season for violating MLB's new "pace of game" rules.
The most recent fine arrived in his mailbox Thursday and is going to cost him $5,000. "I'm taking too long getting to the rubber," said Papelbon. "You're allowed [two minutes and 25 seconds], and I'm taking too long."

By the way folks, victor has significant time behind the plate as Danys Baez's catcher in 2003 when Baez pitched for the Indians 2001-2003. Baez is extremely intelligent and throws pretty hard, but always tended to get very amped up and overthrow his heater, causing it to come up in the zone and straighten out. Huge adrenaline guy, and a known hothead. Went to the Twins clubhouse after a game after a beanball incident with Torii Hunter that Torii half charged the mound, he was looking for Hunter.

Have never seen any real indication that Baez had progressed past being a thrower not a pitcher. Didn't see the pitch or the game, but Vic being able to handle him and knowing the likelihood of getting a good first pitch doesn't surprise me at all.

e: Vic the Stick is a common nickname among some of the Tribe forums where folks consider V-Mart to be lazy and unoriginal.
