The Ace comes through.
A spilt would be acceptable.

Lester is a bonafide stopper. Love this kid.
3.0 up.

Nice day to win, with Texas and TB both losing in definitive (shutout) and gutpunched (Grand Slam BP meltdown) fashion, respectively.
I'm still not giving up on seeing the Red Sox play flawless, superlative, and consistent baseball in every facet of the game (offense, pitching, BP, defense) in the same game, more than once in a row. There's been flashes of that in the regular season, and there's still time for this team to groove. Hopefully I see that in October.

ERA by month
Greinke 0.50, 1.57, 4.50, 2.53, 3.14
Lester 5.40, 5.86, 1.85, 2.60, 2.41
In Jon's first 2 months his BAbip was .375 and .374 with a LD% of only 20.2% and 19.6% respectively. Thats as bad as luck gets.
Dont get me wrong, Greinke is having a better year and deserves the CYA but Lester is a better pitcher IMO.
GET A ROOM YOU TWO!
EDIT: I CANNOT SPELL TWO

I I loved the way he played the game.
I remember his rookie year against the Royals at KC. I went to the game with my kid and sat next to Dauber's mom & dad. Good people.
After the game, we looked out the window of our room at the Drury Inn and there in the parking lot of the Drury Inn was Dauber and his family and friends having a party in the parking lot. Just like real people!
We went down to say hi, and Brian's Dad grabbed my son and said let me introduce you to my son (i.e. Brian Daubach).
It was a blast. I miss Dauber!

Well its a little far afield for looking at matchups for that series. But still, crap. Unless they skip a starter with their only off day between now and then, which would scoot Grienke up one, then yeah, it looks like he will. I was hoping the Sox could avoid him.

Fenway Midwest was rocking. When Lowell hit the home run, the White Flag fans to our left had the look on their face of seeing their sister lose her virginity or something.
And then seeing Max Exodus 1.0 after the end of the 7th, and then Max Exodus 2.0 after the Home Run of Victor-y: Priceless.

This play was a joy to watch in person. You just knew it was going to be a good day once it happened.
